Yeah, 9 Pins. The programming cable is the same as for Kenwood radios ;)

Hi guy's I have a question, i hope you might be able to answer me. I just ordered the MBITR from RSOV.com, me order is first processed on the 11th do to the Chinese new year. I'd like to know if any of you might know if I will have any problems importing the radio to Denmark?

Yannos February 8th, 2011 17:12

Viking, This is Airsoft Canada. We do not know laws for radio in Denmark. However I am pretty sure you can find that info on a Danish Airsoft website.

That info should also be on a government website.
Google: Denmark UHF laws and you will probably find something.

Hi, I've got TCI SF Liberator II headset. I'm wondering if it's gonna work with United Star AN/PRC-148. I have to make some mod with mic and it's gonna be ok, right?

I have to resend mine to ebairsoft, the threads of the U283 plug are snapped in half, so it wont screw in the core of the radio... damnit. Sent them a mail yesterday to tell them, and they disnt answer me yet... they better exchange it, or i'll be reaaaaally mad.

Lucky131 February 11th, 2011 07:25

How do you mean the "threads" on the u283 snapped?
The u283 has only 3 lugs for the u229/u and no threads?!

philster911 February 11th, 2011 11:22

There, pictures are worth a thousand words:

There's the other half of the threads still in the nut inside the radio... so i cannot screw it in no more.

Lucky131 February 11th, 2011 11:31

Oh Fuck!! Ok, that sucks .... Sry to see that happen ....

Unsrew the backpanel so you can access the U283 from the inside ... maybe you can repair it somehow/glue it in?
I changed the U283/U to a real one on my old gen.1 but you need to dremel a lot on the inside for the real connector to fit ....

philster911 February 11th, 2011 13:06

I'm waiting for an answer of paul wong, he told me to send pics, if i dont get answer this week i'll see what i can do to repair it... damnit i hate ebaybanned lol

When programming the radio, does the display show anything special? Or might someone even shoot a short video programming the device?

Hello
After for like a week to programming ..from my experience..when ever you got " DATA FAIL" you need to restart you computer and turn off your radio ..just restart everything again ..then it will work

And only way can made the programming work on radio is ..you have to used direct serial port (in my case i bought the old laptop for $250..just for programming this monster )

EVERYTHing will work if you have a patient..and keep redo it ..

I'll record it next week. For the weekend I'm visiting family, but I'm also getting my father's camera, which is much better than mine, to do it. So... video incoming guys, sorry for the delay but I'll hope it will work!

Cheers

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll stick to the thread :D
By now I tried it on 4 different machines, two with native COM-ports and two with a USB-Dongle, all fail. Most of the time I get the "data fail", sometimes a "receive no data". Can anyone check their COM-port settings please?
Mine are "standard", i.e. 9600bps, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and no flow control. FIFO-Buffer is enabled.

Edit: I just got word from RSOV, they told me that after connection the radio LCD is supposed to show "PC". That never happens in my case.

Hi guys:

Get mind yesterday, same problem with the U283 plug
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5383/photost.th.jpg

I have a couple of questions :D

What's the difference between "Wide/Narrow" and the step choice?

Does the decode / encode is ctcss or is it really coded?

Why in the software, when I enter frequency it tell me "446.06250 is not a valid floating point value"?

In the option what is GREET?

Thanks for your answers!

Alex
