Been playing airsoft for 15 years and never once owned an actual firearm. Totally satisfies my desire to handle a gun. So, using that logic, would it not keep real guns off the streets? In theory?

And in the event that one chooses to legally own a firearm, odds are they have learned at least some safe handling procedures using replicas in a controlled environment.
