UPS fail
bought a rail for my AK in the states and seller sent me this
I called ups n they said that customs denied it and because it did go to Canada I will not b refunded, and I could either resend it and pay another fee but there's no guarentee it will get there again or I can give u a full refund. heres a pic of the info. i don't even live in BC yet UPS stated that the receiver contacted them?UPS you fail again http://i48.tinypic.com/30k3yie.png |
That doesn't like anything that has to do with Customs + I think you just got scammed.
|
Yeah if it hit B.C it would it not be past the Customs border?
Sounds like a scam as Drake said. |
Customs would not deny a product
If anything they either do 2 things 1. Hold onto it for the longest time ever by poking and prodding it for the longest up to1-2 months and then send it to you 2. Send you the Seizure Notice about pending decision on your package But they do not send items back only the postal offices do that Judging by the message 1. You got scammed by the company (Not UPS) UPS does not make address errors 2. The company who sent it was stupid and put the wrong address and asked for that random person to pay for brokerage fee and of course that random person has no clue what it is and refuses to pay |
"No I believe her I ship with her all the time she's a very trusting lady, however the cannot be a refund 1)it did make it to Canada and back and 2) I didn't use actual UPS to send, I used USPS but I went to the UPS store to do so, so if I sent through UPS I would be issued a refund. Confusing?? Sorry
" this lady doesn't make any sense at all |
Who did you order from? Check their policy regarding refund. Demand a refund within a certain amount of time (24hours, 48 hours, whatever you feel comfortable with) or you will contact the police.
|
Dude, read what everyone posted. "The lady" scammed your ass. It goes something like this:
1. someone sells you some item 2. ship whatever junk to the wrong address, use UPS so there's brokerage fees etc 3. person at wrong address gets a packaged addressed to someone who doesn't live there/they never heard of, delivery guy wants $$$ to cover brokerage fees, etc. Person at the wrong address refuses the package, cuz wtf? right. 4. bogus package gets returned 5. "the lady" is all sorry can't refund, and lolz to the bank with ur monies (aka PROFIT) |
private seller. though i don't think it's a scam. they're been responding to my emails promptly.
|
Well I guess everything is fine then.

And BTW, the UPS site does NOT track USPS numbers so if the tracking number works on UPS's site it was sent by UPS. And try running the number on USPS or Canada Post's website, I bet they don't work (they would if it was a USPS number).
So your seller is either huffing and puffing some heavy duty crack or is full of shit. Smart scammers dont want you coming after them so they'll try and convince you its an honest mistake (or maybe they can get you to send even more money for re-shipping) |
Yeah, I call miss delivery on the seller's part given that it went to BC, or scam with a high likely hood of the latter.
|
how did you pay? if paypal just open a claim
|
got this today
" Hey tim, This is Hendrix. Sorry for the delay thanks to Canada customs. I will repack n re label ur items as toy parts. I will eat the shipping. Just to let u know this is not a scam. It's $80 so if I'm gonna scam someone it will be for more. I'm still at shot show in Vegas so when I get back (Monday) I wil take care of this. I just need ur patience here. I actually didn't know this is going to Canada since it was too late or else in wouldn't have taken ur payment. My bad for not checking. I will email u later for More details Sent from my iPhone" guy seems legit. but no paypal claims never cover anything other than ebay auctions. i've bought a "TM" mp5k on here before and it turned out to be a galaxy. i called the seller and he said he can't do anything about it. paypal refused to give me a refund. this was like 2 years back and i lost $450. |
I once had a shipment ($1500USD worth of stuff, $200usd shipping) shipped by UPS, it was "refused entry" by "customs", and sent back. I was MIGHTY pissed off. It was nothing to do with the seller. No one even notified me.

It said "Shipment denied entry". There was nothing restricted btw. It was sent back to the shipper, I had to pay for shipping all over again.

Another thread showing why you should never use UPS.
|
UPS sucks, 80 dollar duties on 125 dollar boots.
|

I've seen the UPS guy drop one of my items in the stairs, directly in my face. And it was broke.
What's worst than waiting 10-12 days for a package and have it broke, live in your face? God, I really wanted to throw the guy by the window lol. |

the reason it was sent to BC Richmond is that it came thru the boarder to the Vancouver International Airport which is a hub into Canada for UPS
item goes into customs then cleared or returned if cleared it's given back to UPS and then shipped to you I would get this all the time with delivers from UPS FedEx into Canada hope that helps |

If you note, this package never made it out of Anaheim, CA. It looks like the brokerage probably called the addressee. A package that would have gone from Anaheim to BC and back would have had an "origin scan" and then "enroute" and others at the intermediate offload stations. UPS got it at 19:57 on 1/20 and went right back out 1 minute later.

Meh. They charged me $75 brokerage fees on a Walther PPK with 50 rounds of ammo...which I got for free due to a PayPal mix up.
Yes. A gun. Not sure if that's a UPS Win, or a UPS Fail... |
$60 in duties + brokerage on a $39.99 US (aoubt $45 Cdn) guitar tuner.
Regardless how you slice it. UPS are always FAIL. Although keeping with the topic of this thread, I do think the OP got scammed and this isn't a UPS related issue. It's just dependent on UPS's extremly high brokerage fee to ensure some product sent to the intentionally wrong address won't get accepted by the recipient. UPS was just used as a tool to perpetrate their scam. |
have u guys dealt with DHL before? they're alot worse IMO.
|
Its all about what you need done. Ya UPS and DHL are a scam coming into the country, they get fucked by the government for competing with Canada Post. For a regular hobby purchase its crazy but they serve a business sector that loves them. We get confused by these high rates and (to us) last minute charges but not the guy doing shipping and receiving for any asian car company without a manufacturing plant on continent. He tells his customers that they will have to pay out the ass for special importation of parts not on this continent.
Just my opinion on UPS in general. |
UPS (stands for ultimate price scam) always fails the good thing is that if you ever received the rail there would have been a 75$ brocker/handling fee on it.....
ALWAYS insist on USPS or purolator anything else and you'll get scammed |
Just an update, I purchase airsoft non-restricted parts and the seller used UPS (even though I said "NO NO NO UPS....I'll use it over my dead body")
It got denied, UPS said its prohibited. My guess is UPS refuse to ship airsoft parts... |
