G3/CA33E question

Hi everyone, can't say I'm exactly new to the forum, but just have never had a need to post. Great forum going on here, you guys have a wealth of information and I personally appreciate your willingness to share it.

I am looking to buy my third airsoft gun, and I want a G3 or one of it's variants. From my research so far, I am quite fond of the CA33E. But I have a few questions that I have been unable to find an answer for, so hopefully you guys could help me out.

1) Does the CA33E shoot 0.2g BB's? I haven't found a conclusive answer to this. CA's website says 6mm BB's but that doesn't really tell me anything. If I can avoid it, I'd prefer not to have to buy a different type of BB's considering I still have a ton of 0.2g BB's.

2) More of an opinion question, but are there any guns out there that are substantially better than the CA33e while still being a G3 variant? To be honest, I'm not sure if I like the look of the SAR Taktik Rifle II. Don't really want a bipod. I like the SAR M41 SG but I don't see it for sale at A&A and at 007.

3) Following the lines of question 2, I don't want to be disloyal to our domestic retailers but if I was forced to buy from a foreign retailer, has anyone dealt recently with WGC that could vouch for them?

Thanks in advance guys! 8-)

Well hi there.

1: Yes it shoots .20 BB's, as well as .25's, .30's.....etc. Hell you could use it with .12's but I wouldn't recommend that option.
2: Dunno
3: Read up on the importing FAQ in the FAQ section. You can't order a gun from overseas, unless you like getting things seized by customs.

1. Any airsoft gun will shoot any weight of BB... it's based on how they preform with the certain weight, Stock guns do good with .20's and .25's.. 400FPS+ do well with .28's and .30's... more FPS = heavier BB

2. I beleive It's a V3, so It'll be just fine.

3. You cannot order guns from over seas. They will get seized and you will not get your money back.

4. Please read the FAQ's... All these questions could have been answered by reading and using the search function.

It's a V2, same with every other G3. The CA33E actually uses all M4 parts, including M4 nozzle and hopup. Lower receivers are completely interchangeable with TM though.

ALL AEG's shoot .2g bb's, they can also shoot .12, .25, .28 and many other variations of 6mm bb's.

6mm airsoft ammo is pretty universal across the board.

As much as I loved the performance and reliability of my CA33E, it's just a pain in the ass to get ANY external parts for the gun, an magazines are hard to come by as well.

I had the metal body on my CA33E break during shipping and I wasn't able to get a new one for months.

A G3 variant you can just steal the metal body or plastic one off of a TM G3, as far as I know.

You HAVE to buy from a Canadian retailer or customs will seize and destroy your goods, you require proper import licenses/ect.

You say your not so new here, then you should be aware of the FAQ's section and the AGE VERIFICATION proccess required in order to purchase airsoft goods.

Simply put, you must be 18+

You don't see the guns for sale at A&A? Just call them or email them and they can order it in for you.

They didn't have my CA33E metal body listed but they ordered it for me.

BTW, I've owned a CA33E and a TM G3A4/SG1 (Only difference is the stock, slither or fixed.) Both guns have been upgraded to 400fps and have most internal components replaced.

Man I miss them, the G3 was a bit creaky tho, the plastic body flexes, but the CA33E comes full metal, no creaking, an god damn, I could NOT make the gun jam at all.

I purposely tried to screw the gun up but just was not able to! It's excellent for ANY playing area, CQB, Mid or Long Range.

Here's for long range.

Here's for mid.

An for CQB I've mad a PDW variant of the CA33E.

You can do ANYTHING to this gun you want.

V2 Gearbox has EVERYTHING available for it, pretty much "if it can go in an M4/M16, it can go right into this", as they have the same mechbox.

UMP Stock, MP5K PDW Stock, slither stock, full stock, M4 collapsable, you name it. As for barrels, I've used the stock 429 mm barrel, had a shortened one with NO outter barrel at all, dont remember the length, an up to a 550mm 6.03mm tightbore.

So god damn accurate hehe.

Anywho enough rambling on, got any questions about either gun post them here or you can private message me.

Thanks guys. More than anything, esp question 3, I was searching for confirmation since I felt I was getting mixed messages from various threads talking about WGC. But you're all right, shoulda checked the FAQ. Of all the places, I didn't look there. My mistake, sorry! Thanks for your replies despite my ignorance. You guys rule, thanks for your help!

EDIT: Wow, BC_K, those are SWEET guns man!

Beware of the classic army 33e. The metal body part toward the forestock will break. I own 2. But these where my first that I bought 4 years ago. They where good rifles and held up well until recently. Have you considered the CA53? MP5 meets CA33e. There is a review on it on the review forums.

This is true; I've broken a CA33 receiver, but only with rather excessive force. I didn't take any chances on the replacement one though, as soon as I got it, I sanded off the anodizing and covered the whole area in JBWeld. It's solid as a rock now.

Can't say I'm fond of the look, but good job nonetheless.

That's the SAR Taktik right? Actually looks pretty sweet.

About the CA53, I have yet to look into it. What was once an easy decision just got a whole lot harder. Thanks for the great input guys. Any opinions out there on the SAR M41 SG?

That 33 with the UMP-style stock that Mantelope posted turns me on...

ThunderCactus November 26th, 2007 21:37
