As the OP of this thread from long ago, I've given up on the narrow forearm idea. I've seen a few rare models from real steel but it's bit of a hassle to aquire them.
I'll probably go for this one day though, I really like this look:

Won't leave me any room for a battery though. It's interesting, the real steel GSG-9 is basically an airsoft design based Mp5 with very little to do with the real Mp5 that is a real firearm so it accepts airsoft accessories and vice versa. A common mod for GSG-9 owners is to put on Classic Army parts like the stock cap as they are metal whereas some of the stock GSG-9 parts are not.
