Though you have to be at least 18 years of age to purchase an airsoft replica, it isn't necessary to own one or to play on a field, given that you have permission from the host/field with the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

Although most fields are strictly restricted to players of 18+ years of age there are some exceptions where younger players do have the opportunity to play.

Now before you start telling us how "mature" you are for a 14 year old, the 18+ guideline is a matter of legality and liability and not maturity, there are no waivers or insurance papers that cover airsoft claims like paintball at the moment.
