Because you can't ballance the packs in that configuration. One will eventually become weaker and fail. That usually means that the other pack is following it.

9.6v 1500-1600mAh will drive your spring no problem for about 1200BBs... I used to spend a bag with my MG, I guess you are not doing the same with an assault rifle.

I actually carry 2 x 9.6v 1600mah, and to be honest, i haven't gone through one fully at a game yet - but its good to have a backup.

Choose your shots carefully and conserve battery length.
