Watch your wattage carefully.
If you're running high FPS and high ROF with a motor that's an amp hog (like an un-insulated magnum), you're gonna burn out MOSFETs like crazy.

At 380fps and 1500rpm, I'm using an EF1300 hummer, but I had to get an SW-COMP custom made for significantly higher amperage than the stock units so I could maintain fire on my SAW.

yea i was using a Magnum. that motor is now toast, so im looking at getting a new one. if the magnum is bad for mosfets and the AWS can't take the high amp, what would be a good motor to pair up with it?

right now im back to using the SW-comp i had before getting the Raptor with an old EG-1000. i really liked the trigger response on the raptor and would love to have one again.

pretty well anything but a magnum really lol
G&P M140 or M160, the systema energy motors might be good but I haven't heard anything about them yet.
Tienly motors are apparently very good.
TM motors are excellent if you've got a low load on it.
And your best bet for high performance is the eagle force EF1300, that's what I run in my 249 and it's one of the only $80+ airsoft motors that's actually worth $80+

I was looking at The eagle force last night. I saw them on TMC(tokyomodelcompany) for around 80.00 bucks. I've never dealt with them before tho.( I had to do a lot of browsing last night just to find a website that had any variety of motors in stock. )

I have a stock (internally) Socom gear Noveske N4 (OEM'd by VFC) Since VFC have the slim pistol grip on their m4's, do you know if they require a special motor? Will any long type motor fit?

The Eagle Force 1300 is by far one of my most favorite airsoft motors. As ThunderCactus said, it's an $80 motor that's ACTUALLY worth $80. The performance is solid, they're very durable, high torque, high ROF, and they're not a major power hog like Systema motors are.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I've heard the Raptors are a PITA to get now since most places are sold out. Still using a 9.6/1600Mah NiMH battery, was thinking about going to a 7.4 LiPo.

Still using stock VFC motor, should I look at changing this out because of the Raptor now?

been looking at some reviews and it seems that the ICS 3000 motor uses less amps than the EF, but the difference is only by 4-6 amps. it also runs faster RPM and has a bit more torque, but it is quite a bit more noisy. so since i can't stand a screaching AEG, i'll be getting an EF to pair with my new Raptor.

every motor has pros and cons, but reviews generally don't include baselines for reliability.
You can have an amazing airsoft motor on the dyno, but if it's got weak bearings, it might only last half a season of hard use

I guess I deserve that, I should have been more specific, do you know of any Canadian retailers that stock them?

I'm not even sure if Eagle Force airsoft motors are still in production...

Their specialty was in the RC market.
