Best stubby/smg non-m4

Hey guys I'm looking for some good choices for a secondary but can also be used as a main, competing with high end AEG's

What are some of the best options as well as brand?

Something upgradeable overtime is great
Durable
and pretty decent out of the box.

Thanks

Edit: non gbb plz

LCT's making MP5s. Maybe they'll make an MP5K?

They did post pictures of something that looked like a MP5K upper on Facebook or Popular Airsoft, so they might very well release one.

You might also want to look into the LCT Bisons and SR3s.

I have a spectre equipped ics mp5 on 13:1 gears ssed down to 375fps... it gives people fits in cqb. rhopped 229mm prommy makes it deadly. The only problem I have with it is that I hate the hopup unit and how it adjusts. It can't hold the setting over time.

Is there no aftermarket hop unit for it? Also, curious to know if you have an opinion on the Scorpion EVO, lurking.

G&G Sig552.

Bonus is you don't really have to upgrade or change anything.

Thanks for the suggestions!, definitely leaning towards a mp5k or ask Evo atm, I'll have to do some research on them.

Bear in mind, as far as I know, the EVO uses proprietary internals, so upgrading might be a bit of a pain. I'm hoping lurkingknight or another respected tech on here would chime in and offer their opinion of it. Online reviews show people like it, but I would take it as a grain of salt as nowadays there's a lot of hype about a product that might not perform as well as they would make you believe. Maybe someone in BC near you has one that they'd be willing to let you try out.

Some MP5s use a slightly modified V2 gearbox, so upgrades galore. We'll have to wait and see if LCT's is standard (I'm pretty sure it will be, they've got a good track record with their AKs). Splinter, is the TM MP5K plastic bodied?

There are prommy hopup parts for the tm style mp5 hop, but the way the nub is adjusted is the weakpoint in this design. I have those first strike parts and there was some improvement in the tightness, but in the end I opted to set the hopup and then attempted to tape the lever adjuster into place. It's not ideal but I very rarely ever have to adjust the hop once it's lifting the weight I'm using. The hop might be a bit more steady on a standard hop configuration but because theres no give in the rhop patch and nub, the passage of the BB is enough movement to bump the nub arm up out of where you set it. I was having issues with .32s lately getting the arm to stay put, seems to have improved with going back down to .3s

The g&g, cyma and CA ones all different are slider style like the AK and I think they are a bit tighter. I'm waiting with baited breath to see how lct does theirs and will probably sell or gut the one I have to put it into an lct if it's bettter. A quick change spring on a g3/mp5 would be perfect and a hopup improvement would be ideal along with a stamped steel upper.

As for the scorpion, I have not put my hands on one yet and nobody has given me one to upgrade, so I have no input to offer. All my evaluations for guns and their upgradability are based on knowledge I get when I open one up.
