And Wey, go to a gun shop like TSE and ask for a stripped AR upper. They will know what you are talking about. You should pay about $200 and will get just the upper, no bolt carrier, barrel, barrel nut or carry handle. Alot of guys sell complete uppers with barrel, etc for about $600-$800.

That answers my question perfectly.

I'm actually considering getting the M4A1 carbine PTW and putting on my G&P RAS2 replica. The PTW's carbine outer barrel should be compatible with the G&P RAS2, as long as the delta ring/barrel nut fits on the receiver.

The Systema barrel nut is tightened just like real ARs. You will need an Armourer's wrench to remove it, and a vise doesn't hurt either. The G&P nut should fit just fine.

Will any of the airsoft barrel nut tools fit?

I currently use this one:



Just insert it, hold it against the nut with one hand, and take a rubber mallet to the end. Works great for airsoft... but if I can use it on a PTW barrel nut, then I save myself some cash.

I'm sure that'd work fine. I bought my barrel nut wrench for $4 at a Texas gun show so they aren't too expensive even if that one breaks.

HA HA! It really was one of the strangest events I've been too, particularly as a Canadian. My brother is in LE down in Texas so we had to go...
Private sales don't even require ID. And this is under the eye of the police. One guy walking around with an UZI strapped to his chest with a little "for sale" flag stuck in the barrel. I saw lots of great stuff, new and old and my father picked up a P226 Navy.
All in all it was truly culture shock.

hey, i'm going to buy the systema m4a1 ptw soon. I'd like to add an m203 launcher on it. since it has real steel dimensions, what brand makes a FULL METAL launcher that would fit on the ptw? i went to the redwolf website as they seem to be the supplier for most airsoft outlets in canada. the classic army launcher seems promising. I am looking for the long barrel version in particular.

VFC Jungle ver. . Seriously one of the nicest made launchers out there. All aluminum, and VERY solid.

You'll need to buy the PTW MAX KIT, as opposed to the assembled version. If it's been preassembled, chances are it has the systema pheonix logo (atleast that what I think it is )

The launcher looks like a VFC to me.
