Are you asking for a maximum effective range or what is the max range that you will be able to hit a man sized target?

Without upgrades we are talking about 75-100 feet. You can extend that to a bit over 150" if you have good compression and air seals and perhaps a tightbore. After that you are talking about putting in few hundred dollars to add about 25-40 feet extra. Most engagments indoors will be with in the 50" range and out doors about 100".

When I say max range I am talking about tilting the gun at an angle and lobbing bbs at you targets. While having you bb fly mor or less straight 150-175ft is gonna be your max distance in which you will be able to accuratly engage targets. I as well as many others here will suggest that you play with the gun for a season before upgrading it. That way you will know how the gun performs on its own. You can then make smart choices on what to upgrade in it instead of just throwing money at it.

So with upgrades, 175 feet is the max. effective range?(bb flight path straight and able to hit a human sized target)
and at which version of the ICS mp5 are you referring to?

To acheive 175ft with an MP5 we are taking about dropping some cash. As an MP5 is a short gun they pretty much will perform about the same +/- a few feet. As I said thats maximimum effective range with all the bells and whistles, infact I probably over estimated a bit. Assume about 150ft max.

What is the biggest battery the ICS MP5 SD5 can handle? and how about a SD6?
And if I change the inner barrel for a 300mm one, what parts do I need to change?
and a last question, do I need to change anything if I use the systema tune kit m120 for mp5? Is the ROF is going to be affected by changing the original parts to these ones?

If you are looking for good range from a stock gun, get something with a longer barrel, or you could always extend a tight bore out into an attached suppressor.

I have an TM SD5 and I can fit a 9.6v mini battery in the stock. For the SD6 you're probably only gonna be able to get an 8.4v mini in the handguard if that. I use a battery pouch attached to the outside of my stock to rock a large battery. I don't suggest that tune up kit for your gun at all, it may place your gun over 400fps which means you might not be able to field it. I have a high speed kit in my MP5 and I regret it, it shoots about 29 bps so I empty mid caps in three seconds. While without a turbo motor you probably won't acheive that rof it will still be high.

All you need for longer distance in your MP5 is a spring to get you around 360fps (say a Modify 100), a good hop up rubber (like a Guarder clear) and heavier BBs than normal (such as 0.28g). That's really about it. My TM MP3A5 a few years ago would get a big grouping (a few feet) at 200ft with that set up. And don't think that you need super long range, this is airsoft, not the real world.
