Lifepo or LIPO 11.1v (Plus) 25C (plus) AK Stick Recommendations

I am looking for informed recommendations on a battery that will fit under the top cover of an AK 74SU and meet the following minimum standards:

11.1V
25C
1300 mah plus
Fit under AK74SU dust cover
Price is not a consideration as long as it meets the requirements

There are many options out there but most are low C and do not meet my requirements. I can add my own connections as needed. I have tried Hobby King but so far the nanotech lipo's I looked at do not fit under the dust cover

I am willing to push the envelope on voltages and battery type (Lifepo, lipo, etc)

I would like to see the best of what others have seen and tried.

I don't think there are any LIPOs that can fit that requirement. I looked around while getting batteries for my AK too. I ended up getting this:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/bb-batter...y-ak-type.html

But now I see theres one with more MAH:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/bb-batter...ry-for-ak.html

Not sure if the 1350MAH one would fit though, the 1200MAH one is already pretty tight.

Both of these are 20C btw.

You checked hobbyking? How hard did you look?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...SOFT_Pack.html

3s 25c 1300mah AK compatible according to the reviews and under $10.

He said 11.1V.

I just got that battery last night. It's nice but only 7.4V

Also, Firefox batteries are notoriously mislabelled.

The lipo stick I got from jugglez is a made up of supersized-"AA" type cells vs narrow flat cells. It can sustain a good bit of juice...but it's not 25c. It will run my KA Galil @ 350fps/stock motor pretty much all day. Starts to taper off after a long day of skirmishing at FR.

I can't recall what make it is....I want to say G&P (rebrand) but he's on vacation so I can't check.

You might want to ask Kingcroba8888.

Intellect?

Methinks that MADDOG has some serious power requirements in order to want 25C. I know 15C is good enough to power most any AEG under 400fps.

I looked at these and in the reviews it states they do not fit, I am looking for a confirmation from a user of what has worked for them before I order 4-5 batteries I do not need and will not fit.

I have reservations about Firefox as well, I have heard the same stories about their quality.

My current batteries are the 1500 mah 12.8v 40c mad bull lifepo's that are now dso'd.

I love these but want something similar to fit in a new beta project gun I will be building.

Push the envelope, max the extreme, eat powersauce bars

Hey Todd,

Over the years I have always ordered my LiPO batteries (regardless of type and size) from Cheap Battery Packs in the USA. They make excellent battery packs and have always given me very good service.

In terms of what you are looking for perhaps look at some of the stick LiPO batteries that CBP offers on this webpage. I did see some 11.1v / 20c sticks but no 11.1v / 25c batteries. They also list the size dimensions of these stick batteries so you can judge if they fit in your AK.

If none of the offered batteries meets your needs you can always contact CBP and see if they will make a custom battery for you.

Good luck!

It is 168x18x18mm.
I don't know what brand his AK is, but 18x18 does not fit into my Inokatsu AK receiver and I doubt it will fit into LCTs.

Either you did a ninja-edit or brain fart on my part. LOL!

Yeah that battery is impossible to fit under the feed cover.
I have both the Beta Project AK and that battery and have the same problem as MADDOG.
No 25C lipo can go under the tray... QQ

Thinking about it more, if the pack can fit UNDER the front sight you should be in business. But the thickness of the battery is restricted by that monstrous ambidextrous charging handle...

I did an edit but it was to change my wording because i thought it sounded too harsh. Anyway the reviews seem to be mixed about what it does and does not fit. Personally i used a battery box on my ak74su, but that was before these batteries were available.

This is what I had.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6195

It's a tight fit re. diameter...and it is longer (IIRC) than a 9.6v NiMh mini stick. IIRC it does not fit up into some AK's (I think Nacchi had issues with getting one into his RS AK).

Because the wire that connects the end of the cell back up to the connector is an actual wire, and the cells are a bit bigger than a 2/3A cell it might be a no go unless the space in your rifle is generous. I had to open up the opening on my KA Galil to get it through without mangling the battery.

I'll check what the C rating is...I think it's 20C. You're welcome to swing by and test fit/fire it if you want. Mine's got a solid year into it, so it might not be as spiffy as a new one.

Hey Stealth,

I will not get the gun until tomorrow and I can scrutinize it, any chance the buffer tube can be modded to hold these nanotech 1300 11.1v?
