TM P226, part 58 question **fixed**

Hello. I've untaken to use real steel pachmayr grips for my TM P226 and was succesful in modding them to fit, but have realised I might have completely misplaced part # 58 in the process - which confuses me as I don't recall ever seeing it. Also, in the diagram it shows itself being screwed in and I never unscrewed it :???:

Performance wise, the hammer will not properly cycle at the moment. The trigger pulls the hammer back fine, then the hammer sits limp and will not spring back forward. Might this indicate the missing presence of said part, or something else?

If someone could diagnose via these details and the attached picture of the area in question as to whether I've indeed misplaced a part - or if its something else - I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Double check part number 61 and see if the upper part of it is resting in the right position. The curved end of it should be sitting against part 31. Part 31 is visible through the opening at the rear of the hammer.

Does the decocker work? If so i don't think you even need part 58.

Thanks for the fast reply Jugglez. Indeed, it seems that 61 is not sitting firmly in its place. When holding it in place by hand, the hammer action is fine. Yet, when returning duty back to parts 62 and 63, something isn't holding 61 properly and it drops again. I'm not quite getting something here...

I need more pressure Scotty!

Double check the position of the hammer spring... narrow end faces down.

Scratch that, the narrow end should be facing up... in the Marui digram it shows it as facing down, which is incorrect.

With the wider end facing up, the hammer spring will sit too high up on the reed and won't create enough tension.

Love too, I have one more hurdle... the decocker seem just a little tight in its new home. Perhaps another round of gentle grinding. There has been a lot of this I assure you.

Is it just me, or have you installed a Guarder "bare" metal frame and painted it green?
