In order to try to condense some of the various CADPAT threads here, It would be best to localize all the Q&A..
If you have a CADPAT question, ask it here. And only respond if you have an answer. After the question is closed, I'll move it to the top post so that it shouldn't be reasked. ========================================= Special thanks to Yeoman for Contributing a large number of Q's and A's. I'll throw in some common Q's I see Q;Where can I get cadpat bdu's? A; www.sealsactiongear.com www.ebay.ca and search under "cadpat" (duh) - other sources for CADPAT. Beaver, Creative, Save More and the Oakville shop ALL carry Frontenac Cadpat BDU's, and it's logical to assume that MOST surplus stores carry it by now. Q;Where can I get cadpat LBV's? A; www.ironwolfent.com www.ebay.ca and search under cadpat (once again) Q; where can I get cadpat accesories (nametapes, bags, etc.) A; www.canadianpeacekeeper.com www.sealsactiongear.com (if you ask them, they will) www.ebay.ca (not all the time, but you'll see some stuff) Q;Is cadpat really THAT good? A; (the short version) now do you or don't you want to be seen? I know which one I don't want, do you? Q; what's this other stuff I see that's like cadpat? A; chances are it's one of the following; marpat (what the marines now get issued), jungle stalker (it's a tan instead of a brown basically), mountain stalker (more redish-brown then anything), or any other kind of wanna be digi pattern out there Q; how can I keep cadpat from fading in the first place? A; wash them in cold water, use liquid detergent, or do what I do with my uniforms, just don't wash them that bloody often Q; will I look elite wearing my cadpat?!? A; not unless you're me, or wolfpack Q: Can I restore my CADPAT's colour. A: NO. It's known for it's uncanny fading ability. But you can try if you would like. Q: How does the Frontenac CADPAT in surplus compare to the CF issued CADPAT? A: Check the gallery, uploads section. There is a pic showing them side by side.

Actually it's the new British Individual radio and headset.

Rainman is almost right. It's called the PRR - personal role radio, made by Marconi. The guys using it now in Op Athena say it's good stuff.
I believe it was the Brits who started using them en-mass in OEF. |
