I could be wrong but I was told years ago to put vinegar (I think half to a full cup) into a bucket of cold water and soak it a while before washing. Seemed to have worked well.

I've read so many ways of keeping CADPAT from fading and all that, I just dont know for sure. And I really dont want to risk my overly expensive BDUs on someones hearsay. Thanks... ![]() Justin F -- rc_p120 |

I have used the vinger thing with blue jeans to keep them from fading alot.
I also have used it on my CADPAT. (Soaking in cold water overnight with vinger) It's still new so I not able to tell how well it works but from how my jeans look it should be good. Also I did a bit of shearching on the net and DND website. On sugestion from one of our soldiers was to dry clean your CADPAT every 5 to 6 washings. I dunno how much that would help but he said that kept his looking pretty new. None of these suggestion should harm your CADPAT. |

A soldier I talked to said to only wash your CAPPAT and hang dry them. He has co-workers that don't bother following the instructions and hot water/hot dryer with all the rest of the clothes. Guess that'd just be common sense.

I use it. Works fairly well but the best solution is still to wash as little as possible.

Anyone have a vest from www.specialforces.com? I see they make most of their vests availabe in CADPAT, but what CADPAT is it? I'm assuming it's not real but I don't really think that Frontenac stuff is durable enough (or thick enough to make a LBV out of). So if anyone has had experience with any of their vests, their input would be much appreciated. My main concern is that it's made of some MARPAT knowck off material that they dubbed as CADPAT for whatever reason...

I wish I could get the official CF CADPAT in stores too bad they only have surplus.

ERT, That is most likely the digicad pattern on their website, but I can't tell without seeing a picture of it.

Just a shift in the discussion...
I am hesitant to order clothing items online, and the local surplus store (KW Surplus on Victoria St. in Kitchener) doesn't carry any frontinac CADPAT. Can someone between Toronto and London please list a couple of surplus stores that are indeed known to carry the fake CADPAT. From what I hear, it is cheaper than the limited discharge coming out, and my budget is limited. I don't mind driving an hour to see these items in person (sorry if this is posted in the wrong place). -Adam |

I just checked those links...
Canadian Peacekeeper is, from what I can tell, strictly online sales (not so comfortable with online purchases where clothing is concerned). Ironwolf Enterprises is located in PA. And Seals Action Gear is in Calgary. Those were the only stores I saw listed at the beginning of this thread (or am I looking at the wrong list?). But in the course of this thread, it has been mentioned that some surplus stores carried the Frontinac CADPAT. What I am asking is does anyone know of a specific surplus store within 120km of Kitchener that has the Frontinac stuff in stock? Or, locally, am I SOL? -Adam |
