which one would you recommend...I am very tempted to purchase one

I was planning to purchase the G&P SR-25K URX but I was also looking at upgrading it with all systema parts, I beleive it will come close to 2000$, I think at the end I am better off purchasing the m4a1 because I do not like the full stock and in the near future I could add a RIS rail, now my question is that if I purchase the m4a1 from a&a or 007 or better yet "does anyone knows anyone that I could purchase one from brand new off course for cheaper?", I do not need anymore internal upgrades but cylinders and battery only?...and of course a magnified red dot will go nice....man this hobby is expensive and I just started 8-O and did not even played a game yet

another question, I really like the M16A3 MAX because of the barrel lenght, does the m4a1 is much a difference?....

mcguyver October 28th, 2007 21:58

There are no internal upgrades for a PTW, unless you buy an older Gen 1 or 2 (these will be old and used) and plan to upgrade it to current MAX standards, or even to a Gen 3 level.

Buy the gun, batteries and whatever cylinder kits you think you need (from M90-M130) as well as extra magazines (proprietary to the PTW).

Like MC get the type of gun you want, I would go with already assembled. Next at least 2-4 extra mags to start. Than depending of what you want to do m130 with a cut down spring for outdoor use and m90 for CQB, or M110 and M90. You will need at least 1 9.6, and if you get max the 12v battery as well.

nevermind, I really looked at the picture of both and there is not much different in terms of lenght....how about performance wise?.....

I was also looking on having the
M150 cylinder: 505-510 FPS
M130 cylinder: 428-432 FPS
M110 cylinder: 387-389 FPS

now I do not understand the battery?....can a 9.6 be sufficient for all cylinder?...I was planning on getting only 2 X 9.6 and hopefully it will last me all day, while being a gun-ho

Daes October 28th, 2007 22:10

There is no difference, they are exactly the same internally, barrel length, etc. The MAX guns have all been standardized internally. Buy what you want for looks, don't worry about what is inside with the MAX's.

The 9.6 battery works with M90-130, the 12v is for the M150.

M110 cylinder: 387-389 FPS
(2) 9.6v highest mah battery
12v highest mah battery
6-pack magazines

The M150 requires the 12v battery. If you try to use the 9.6v, best case scenario is you'll blow the fuse. If you repeatedly try to use the 9.6v, you'll likely fry the EL-003 board, at a cost of $135 U.S.

If you don't want to use the M150, just stick to M90-M130 and 9.6v. To be honest, I rarely use the M150, except at our local field where we have no velocity limits.

There is only 1 battery size for the PTW. the 9.6v is only 1600mah, but even with the M130, I can get 2000 rounds+ out of it, or about 3000 rounds with the M110.

12v is 1200mah, not the 1300 mah as some have advertised.

Mags for the PTW can only be from Systema, no other mags are compatible.

A&A is currently the only retailer who stock PTWs. Ken from 007 has brought them in from what I hear.

Griffin October 28th, 2007 23:10

Now I have not tried maybe the people on here who have owned a PTW longer the me can answer this. Can you buy the PTW mags from the US or if you wanted drive across border than on you r way back of course declare them without any real issues.

I don't see why not. Guys get M4 mags from other manufacturers all the time from the U.S.. I know guys have bought them from Empire in Michigan, and I've bought stuff from them as well and had it shipped to me without issue.
