thinh where did you get the maid grip? and did you mod it yourself to work?

Qlong April 10th, 2009 14:08

Sign up on the PTW forums, there are articles on how it's done.

Sometimes they pop up on ebay.ca and on CGN, or you can ask if a retailer in the US is willing to ship to Canada.

Is that Huang's rail?

Qlong April 11th, 2009 20:38

Yep, same as Huang's rail, but I got it off another retailer, the threading of the barrel nut does not fit a PTW, so be ready to either do ALOT of dremeling to the threads or buy a RS barrel nut, or perhaps a different version.

You can get the madbull thread tool,
The problem is that PTWs have the same threads as the real steel, so Imperial thread. Typically AEGs have metric thread. This tool will change your imperial threads to "both" types so you can fit on both, I wouldnt recomend doing this to a Real Steel AR, but a PTW you can.

Another method is using a file, and some elbow grease, since metric threads and imperial threads are very similar.

That's right, there's also the Madbull tool for modding the upper, however that wasn't an option, so I dremeled the threading of the barrel nut, I should have made that clear ;)
