How cold, Loco?

DesertF0x9 November 17th, 2010 09:13

When you say the hop up increased a crap ton, was it consistent and did you experience a nice flat trajectory. How would you say the hop up was before?

It was consistent, but the BBs were curving upwards. I never had time to adjust it properly because I was in combat the entire time :P

Thanks for the input loco, how was your stock hop up behaving before the ra-tech hop up install. I noticed you have a 6.01 tbb barrel. I've noticed that with mine install it will overhop even on the lowest setting.

Have you tried reducing your velocity?

DesertF0x9 November 18th, 2010 07:43

yeah i have.

Rookie Ab November 18th, 2010 07:56

How about heavier BB's ? I run .28's and that helped with over hop on my modded stock hop set up.

DesertF0x9 November 18th, 2010 09:39

.28s is currently the heaviest i've got, but I will be getting some .36s soon

Try loosening the screw for the hop-up adjustment ring. That will probably fix your over hop issue. But just make sure it's NOT loose enough to fall out or wiggle.

And just an update, my M4 finally had a major failure after about the 25,000 round mark. Part #2, the feeding lamp and the as well as the Hop-Up base both cracked. The gun still functioned fine, but I was a bit worried cause the bolt's guide rod wasn't secured so the bolt had a lot of side to side movement. So I ordered the parts from Capital and replaced em and it's as good as new.

So just to confirm any AEG front set that's TM compatible will fit this?

I'm pretty sure most AEG rail sets would fit with some modification, but I'm not sure about complete front sets.

theshaneler November 21st, 2010 20:51

outer barrels need to be modified, but it takes less than 10 min with a dremmal

Saberwing November 21st, 2010 21:12

Well I was looking at getting this for it: http://www.torontoairsoft.com/product.php?id_product=82

theshaneler November 21st, 2010 21:28

yep you will have to do some mods to it. let me see if i can find pics

theshaneler November 21st, 2010 21:32

here is the main part that needs to be fixed... KJW on the left, G&P on the right

also, the sides that hold the hop unit need to be widened a bit.
