What if I just wanted to mount the RAS?

1. For those of you with the plastic lowers, how are they holding up durability wise (after 6 months of gaming or so)?
2. How well do the thermold mags fit into single mag pouches? The ones i have are pretty snug for aeg pmags and i was thinking the ribs might not fit in the pouch.

1. I got metal lowers for both of mine so I didn't fully get to test out the durability of the plastic ones. I did however on the first one pretty much put everything I had in wrenching the buffer tube off the lower receiver and the plastic held up (to my frustration).

2.

I don't always use the pouches with the velcro, I prefer the open ones, they fit nice and snug, as long as you are using magpuls, you should have no problem.

Where has everybody been buying their magazines? I'm all for supporting Canadian retailers, but not when they're selling something at twice the price other retailers are selling.

bshantz November 27th, 2010 13:56

I have 8,

2 from my first KJW
2 from my second.....

4 from the classifieds.
Still expect to pay decent money for these magazines.. But they are worth it.

My gun has the stock plastic lower, after well over a year of everyday shooting, no visible signs of stress or cracks.

I have mine in Condor shingles, very snug, but they fit.

I've noticed the first problem with mine. I bought it used off of Loco, and it arrived in really good shape. I've kept it lubricated and oiled. However, now when I fire in semi the trigger doesn't always reset. Do I need to lube it more or is there something going wrong inside?

brixx December 4th, 2010 01:19

yup proper lubrication will do. Mine has a plastic receiver and it didn't gave me any headache it is more than a year, I guess the plastic receiver works great at cold temperature its really reliable.

Any update on the STANAG magazines?

juicy December 5th, 2010 22:35

Cradle is going to be releasing them. KJW said no, but I'm not sure they understood my question.

Saberwing December 5th, 2010 23:04

Was there a time frame or no? Because if they're releasing in the next couple months I'll wait, and if not I'll buy the Thermolds...

juicy December 5th, 2010 23:31

Next couple of months is what they said, yeah. January, I think? February, maybe. Was supposed to be similar to the time frame WE gave me for their open bolt M4 kits... which they said was around the end of this year. Cradle said sometime shortly thereafter that, but I can't remember off the top of my head what exactly they estimated.

Smitico December 7th, 2010 13:50

As for the STANAG's, some company called LAW will be making them in conjunction with an SPR kit:

So if you can't wait for the cradle airsoft version, looks like we might all have multiple sources.

Saberwing December 7th, 2010 15:15

Anybody with some Thermolds that is going to change over to STANAGs, PM me...

Hey,
Just picked up one of these little lovelies from jeffs store last week, was wondering if any of you have compared the accuracy on the stock 303mm (or whatever) length barrel, to a longer one. I was tepmted to throw on a different outer and a longer inner, but I kind of like the cqb length look. Has anyone tried out the 6.03 mm Ra-Tech inners made for the gun?
