Otherwise like coachster said, just loading the shell in the launcher will cause it to shoot. Trust me from personal experience. Lucky for me it was just testings in my backyard.

for airsoft applications:

300-400 psi for indoors
400-600psi for outdoors

for 600-800psi you must observe your MED's


for your target stuff, start with 400psi to get a base range with the projectile you want, then adjust up or down to zero in on your range with minimal arcing. of course you can run lower and force yourself to calculate the trajectory with a leaf sight...

max I'd run them on a regular basis to avoid regular maintenance is 600psi.
