Over a hundred dollars for eye protection may seem steep, especially when there are other options that can go 5 or more times less, but of all the things you can buy for airsoft, this is the most important.

I'm glad you are already looking for good quality lenses, so I'll skip that part. The added value you'll get with higher-end models with fans is peace of mind.

Fogging suck. Full stop. It will make you hate your day. Just think, if I asked you on the field how much you would be willing to pay for me to fix your fog problem right now, and for the rest of the day.

2$? 5$? More?

Multiply that by the number of games you'll play in the lifetime of the goggles, which will probably last longer than cheap crap which you'll pay again to replace, and you'll see that there is value in the higher-end models.

Also, honnestly, even if this means paying a hundred more, your whole setup will cost many times more. Wait a bit more to save a few bucks and see if you could compress in the cost of the other stuff.

Alternately, I would suggest the ESS Advancer V12s and Wiley X SG-1 V-CUTs. I sweat like a motherfucker and I love them.

I think i like the full goggle style, like the revision desert locusts im just not sure if im ready to shell out 169.99 for the fan version...thinking of going with the standard desert locusts for 99.99

Well, i think im going with the JT Flex 8's so i have the option of running full face or just goggles..also they have nothing but awesome reviews regarding fog up.

That's an option but full face masks are a pain in the ass if you want to aim properly... which you'll have to do if you ever use black BBs.

they fog....hard

drek February 1st, 2011 21:31

they fog, huh....seems like all the reviews r lies i guess. Dammit why is it so hard to find descent goggles.

Final question, are the revision desert locusts good, do they fog? the 99.99 ones. Will i still be able to aim through my sights using these goggles.

Also you can just use the goggles on that mask, they detach from the full face. I was just thinking it would be nice to have the full face option if some fields require it.

Get different eye-pro for different scenarios/uses.

I have the following:

- JT Flex 8 Thermal Camo (for CQB)
- Bolle X800 (for outdoor)
- Oakley M-Frames with clear Sweep lenses (for competition shooting)

Regarding fog, simply get yourself some Fogtech.

So many mixed opinions, so far choosing a good goggle seems the be the hardest part of getting geared up. lol

ESS Advancer V12s
UK Army issued
Light weight
comfortable
extra lens
35 feet shot gun bulletproof
Fog free

Buy it from ebay, it's a lot cheaper than Canadian dealer's price even with shipping included.

ebay is plagued with cheap copys, ill pass.

Those look alright, so many options...no solid reviews lol

that really depends, My teammate got his ESS V12 with 3 pairs of lens shipped from UK for less than $50, I got mine V12 from Quebec, $80 shipped. all you need to do is check the seller's info and feed back.
