ya well for now its the best AK out there, until we see what KWA has in store... |
Inserting the magazine is a pain, I'll agree with that, kind of makes me nervous. I have yet to game mine so I can't say much about quality, hopefully this isn't another GHK.

I'm in love. Nice AK. Im looking to get the AEG version soon and hope that it will be just as cool.

I'll be the first to say that you aren't a bad gun doctor, but you just have bad luck with the WE rifles. I had a closed bolt M4 and had no problems with it, and the general consensus on these boards seem to run parallel to my experience.
|
Well TNB Im not going to say against you, but It's kinda what you expect when you use pot metal on those parts.
There's a reason for steel mechanism, or in FNH case for P90 high quality fibre reinforced polymer The SRC, I handled them, was really disappointed with it. Quality just wasn't there especially the magazine, cheap plastic (lower grade than G&P AK74) the tabs isn't reinforced, the firearm version uses reinforced with steel for a reason. |
RAtech steel upgrade parts do alot for the reliability of the WE rifles, but on my M14, I've only broken every part that RAtech DOESN'T make, lol
i guess in regular useage a WE rifle can be a fine choice, just not if you fire alot like me, to put that in perspective, the weekend I got my M14, I put THREE cans of propane through it, and the bolt catch was a total goner, then the next part broke in the first game, id place this point at around 3000 shots or so |

I've been bitten once by CRAP AK GBBR.. I have a GHK .. beautiful gun has never fired more than 1 mag .. Relegated to training prop now.
I'm resisting the SRC...... Ill hold out for the WE product, I'm a believer in their products.. as anyone who has had a look in my armoury would attest. |

well the SRCs main issues seem to be the hopup and mag, the hopup issue can be solved my some simple tweaking to get it to shoot straight, and it was probably the specific one they tested that shot to the side, and then locktite to keep the adjustor in place, and as for the mags, i guess just be careful with them, because the trigger group looks to be made out of decent quality metal, so the the rest of the gun looks like it should last
@shelledpants I should have said the weekend i got them, but yes, a combination of dry and live fire, I regreased it as soon as I got it, then since I have nothing better to do, i just spent the whole weekend shooting it and having fun with it, and i probably regreased the face of the hammer and the bolt track atleast twice |

GHK is poop SRC looks like a poop that doesn't smell so bad.... GHK Ver 2 is not sure, looks alot better, if they use the quality they put in from PDW it would be great. (external of GHK GKM aka AKM is LCT) |

From a person who doesn't mind slings/etc, a single hose will not hold me back from great recoil, no cooldown, etc Daytona is the only, and best option. |
I have to agree that classic airsoft GBBRs still rule when it comes to gaming ability, but after last night's impromptu "range test" this GBBR is just too much goddamn fun, and I really appreciate the bolt stop. A few friends and I ended up shooting 10 - 12 mags in their basement (getting repaired/refinished so we went to town on the drywall :P) and there was not a single failure, malfunction or gas venting. The magazine is still in perfect shape and the bolt/nozzle are looking great, too. I'd say that this gun is a CQB beast, very accurate up to 40ft, although I still want to deal with the hopup resetting.
On another note, King Arms trigger guards will fit with slight modification (drill the screw holes 2 sizes up), but inserting the magazine is much harder and not worth the potential worry. |
