does it come with zombies?

$100K for a structure riddled with asbestos and nowhere near close to modern building code standards is a fair price.

I wonder how much it cost to heat that place in winter and how much are the taxes?
Wonder what regulations and laws you have to uphold to buy a place like that. |
Maybe not that many.
You have buildings which may be abandoned and in disrepair, vandalized, etc. Lots of water infiltration, mold/fungus growth. Most likely contaminated with Asbestos (and who knows what else). $100k is the cover charge, but it'll cost millions to make the place usable -- or even to demolish. Probably why nobody wanted it. |
Having been to this area last year, I can tell you it was in fine shape. It has been maintained and heated over the winter since its closing in 09. The town of SF also sold one of the two hospitals a few years back for the sum of $1. It was not in great shape however...
Between Perth and Smiths Falls, you can also find the little known about, Carp-Bunker's back-up. It closed in the late 90's, pretty much the same as the carp complex, did not have the TV studio though, but was on a much larger parcel of land. It was for sale for multiple years...however the main blast doors were removed, and "most" of the entrances sealed with cement. I believe a farmer now leases the land from the federal GVT. |
