Thanks to my firefly hop rubber, I got into my top choice for university!
I met a beautiful wife who cooks and cleans for me, I got an amazing high paying job, and I became far happier with my life! I can honestly say I'm a different person after switching to firefly! |
I've heard that for 350 fps it is ideal to use a soft hop-up bucking but for higher FPS such as 400 it's better to use a hard one. What is your opinion on this? And do you find it's best to match the hardness of the bucking and the nub or sometimes mix and match?
|
I wanna add to that, what FPS range is good for the extra soft hop-ups?

I've always stuck to:
<300fps: Extra Soft 300-350fps: Soft >350fps: Hard But you're right, there is some overlap, and the rules are not completely defined and set in stone. You can definitely use a Soft rubber at 400fps as well, but you'll just have to turn the hop up a bit higher to get it to engage. |
I thought there was a medium grade as well?
|
There may be... I'm just not aware of it. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though
|
Firefly has a medium nub available but thats all the medium I've come across so far.
|
Yeah, they do. I actually have one in stock. I've just never seen a medium rubber itself. Only extra soft, soft, and hard.

After browsing around on the forums a lot of people seem to believe the Mad Bull 60 Degree Shark Bucking Hop-Up set is one of the best.
