Also, real Glocks aren't "full metal," so there's no point in looking for a metal airsoft version.

People like the KSC/KWA Glocks because they are 1:1 with the real thing. TM and their clones are actually larger than real Glocks, and therefore can't use real sights and holsters and whatnot.

Slightly frustrating that almost all the glock guns are better in the G19 version. I want the G17 to train on as we use the G22 as our service pistol and it would be an exact size and functionality match. I would just want the real full-metal slide for the glock.

I've also been looking at the TM 5-7 and another steel BB gun called the sig p226 X-five

If you're willing to wait it out, I'm sure if you put up a wanted ad in the classifieds after you get age verified someone will have a G17 of some brand or other to sell you. Just remember that if you have real steel G17 accessories you want to use with it, they're likely only going to fit a KSC/KWA Glock.

Had a WE G17 (Gen 4) wasn't too bad, used it once sold it and whent back to my 1911 MEU

KWA IS NICE :) Hard to find mags for though, and parts forget it. Really nice feel in the hand however when sighting in

redzaku April 15th, 2014 23:14

What do you mean hard to find? Get atp magazines and it fits the fmg9 and KSC fine

The ATP is actually a G17 with different external looking, most of internals are compatible (as of KWA saying). They don't have the copyrights so they had to stop manufacturing the Glock series.

I guess now is the time to mention the VFC/Stark G17.

Absolutely. I actually just ordered the G17 on ehobby when it came back in stock. They just refunded my purchase though because of the fps requirements (I thought that was negated with the orange tip). Unless a retailer in Canada has these, it is pretty tough to get them no?

TM G17 is out of the picture because of the price unfortunately.

Hmmmm... If triggerairsoft can match milsigs $246 for the KSC G17, is that a pretty comparable price?

The orange tip is only a requirement in the States, so the FPS requirement is the start of you troubles.

Wow actually a decent price at milsig, I'm surprised
Maybe not that much since its out of stock though :P And probably no retailer will price match out of stock items...

A TM g17 can be had for around 300$ in country

JayRaff April 16th, 2014 21:09

Interesting....Hmmm. That makes things really tricky then....an extra $60 will get me a significantly better gun you think then? Im not really sold on the TM G17 being bigger than the real steel though...however, if it functions the same I can't complain much.

Also, triggerairsoft just said they would "match the out of stock items price just this once". ... Now that I know that...I really should have asked for this one on aps for $219

Whaddya think, should I push my luck and ask if they would price match that?

MultipleParadox April 16th, 2014 21:44

You will want to remove that link, as you can't post a link (or even mention) a location of guns in the "public" area, forum rules; this is to help prevent kiddos getting stuff they shouldn't bring to school and what not (even mentioning trigger is pretty much off-limit if not completely)

That said, it's your call, personally I wouldn't try too hard but what do I know :P

Considering size, the TM is quite close but as mentioned, a bit bigger

If you're worrying about this for holster fitment issues, "many" holsters will work. My G-Code is a perfect fit for my G18, with Guarder frame and shooter design metal slide

If what worries you is about training and motor reflex and what not, then you might want to stick to 1:1 size, depending on how important it is to you

JayRaff April 16th, 2014 22:01

Thanks, for the pointers and corrections once again haha :P I just asked them to include taxes and shipping in the price. We'll see how that goes down! Heheh, us Canadians have to whatever we can to get a half decent price comparatively to the states!!

JayRaff April 16th, 2014 22:02

One more question, if I wasn't looking for a glock anymore, what gun would be at the top of your list to recommend to me?

Danke April 16th, 2014 23:11

1911, *usp p226.
