airsplat advertised them for 1200US, UN company 1000US. Not sure what revision.

Looking forward to the next video installment Solo. I'd be interested to know of its consistency and such with its unique delivery.

Thanks all for watching it.
I have investigated a bit, and it seems there may be a few issues with the US market, not sure about the Canadian one. Systema has put on hold the sale of the "toy" version of this rifle in the US market for good reasons.
For now, in the US, only LE/Army personnel will be able to get one.
I am not sure for how long this will be. I hope not too long.

Since we're in Canada here ;) I hope it's going to be different for Canada.

Second part is harder to make with the quality standards Ive now raised up to.
Has to be more live but still show precise shooting and stuff.

Dont hold your breath for now, itll take some time but eventually itll be there.

Ciao!

I'd opt to get one, if a supplier could get a 3rd generation of the M4A1 and the cylinder upgrades.

Having one of the PTWS is much more pleasing than my current collection. =)

Slick Rifles... the price however is rediculous, a real Armalite costs less!

Nocturnal October 15th, 2005 13:22

yah and if something goes horribly wrong with the gun you will have to ship the gun to your supplier for them to ship it to systema for fixing -_-

That's true obviously, but you wont be able to shoot you friends down with a real armalite? Not twice at least. These are in a way more sophisticated, as they try and replicate real armalites features with electronics inside (one could consider PTWs as electronic rifles, not just electric).

Yup, something goes horribly wrong you either send it back to them or decide to replace the whole broken part yourself. Which isn't impossible by the way, since PTWs carry the same philosophy of interchangeable parts as real ARs do.
But tey sure cost a lot of money, this is out of question.

;)

Oh, I'm not arguing their impressive design. In fact, I think even Tokyo Marui could learn a few things from these rifles. I'm just trying to keep things in perspective here.

The bottom line is... it's an Airsoft gun. The basic components are the same as any AEG, so the manufacturing cost is roughly the same as anyother full metal rifle. The $$$ being asked are 50% 'wow factor'.... thats $1500 in 'WOW'. Kinda steep.

Lynch mate,
nope ;)
This is entirely a totally new design, different parts from usual airsoft design, both internally and externally.
It's priced high because of the high costs of R&D Systema had to sustain and the high quality they strive to get in every single one of them.

Previous versions have failed IMHO, but this one's different (3rd).
Just to say, I agree it's a very high cost, but it is justified by the total diversity of this rifle and what it can deliver. Not the same size as Maruis, different materials, totally different internals (there is not a single compatible component).

I hope Systema can meet its break even soon with them, thus lowering the final price.

;)

Nocturnal October 15th, 2005 18:23

oh man if they can lower that price on each unit.. hooorah!.. no more of the current Armalites. although.. if they do that they defeat the purpose of their new complete mechbox line. and therefore will have to cease production of upgrade parts.
