I will help people look for a lost mag, or god formid a lost gbb. But if you bring this P.O.S on the feild you can find your own shells.

Slick May 15th, 2006 22:01

This is incredible!! Did some of you fail to see the fact that a 10 year old boy is playing with this. Id ask for this thread to be deleted like all those crossman canadian tire threads but its likely that you guys will just keep creating new ones. Its really sad.

Bob the Angry Potato May 15th, 2006 22:20

Hey, man, come on.
None of us are saying 'This is t3h 1337, let's go skirmish with it'. Just saying it'd make a fun project gun, perhaps something to fuck around with for fun.
We'll see how it is, hey? I've found videos with children handling expensive AEGs before, doesn't mean that they're utter shit. We may as well give it the benefit of the doubt.

Tankdude May 15th, 2006 22:30

The caps are strong enough to propel bb's. Trust me. Lets leave it at that.

DuffMan May 16th, 2006 00:09

It's at the least an interesting concept.

agreed, i would definatly support something like this in the hope that someday it will evolve into a decent skirmishable airsoft gun. wouldnt we all enjoy seeing this idea grow up to replace what weve got now? this is the potentially the future, a step in a good direction. i give it a thumbs up. anybody whos into milsim at all, this is your bag, anyone whos into airsoft at all period, should see this is an awesome advancment in the industry.... this here is the equivelant to when aeg's replaced the co2 powered rifles (see 1991marui adv upload by mr__snake) i dunno about the 500fps tho, tone it down a bit, and definatly up the mag capacity, but aside from that, im excited to see where this take the industry.

Dustball October 18th, 2006 00:42

This thing is incredible, I'd do anything for one. So many movie possibilities with this gun aswell.

Rumpel Felt October 18th, 2006 17:41

Man are those promo videos from Asia ever LAME! haha I just can't help bu laugh at the cheasyness some times.

I really don't think THIS concept will go anywhere. I mean the whole idea of improment now, to me, is to loose the who batteries and lame as sewing machine noises. With this there are just too many damn things to worry about.

If somehow a bb could be in place of a bullet in a shell with a much lower load, yet still enough to cycle the gun....we would be set for realism. Of course we all know it would be well....essentially identical internally and externally to a real gun. So that's out.

I think BB or a least the projectile being round is here forever. It's just so damn easy to load a loader and pump 80 bb's into a mag in a few seconds.

dougi3000 October 18th, 2006 17:58

This is cool and the concept does has milsim advantages.

-ejecting shells (cool)
-fewer bullets per mag (reduces less spray and pray)
-bang sounds (instead of wirring sounds of an AEG)
-smoke/exhaust

The thing I really like is the Sounds. The next step is blow back.
My idea for the next gen milsim style rifle would be to take a regular AEG, add a mechanism that will take a roll of caps and fires every time you shoot a bb. and maybe a blowback mechanism powered by gas. Or use the gas blowback to fire the paper caps. O_O

Greylocks October 18th, 2006 18:49

This thing is a newbie magnet, nothing more. It's far from practical for any type of gaming.
The last thing you want is to hunt for the spare shells. They can be easily broken as they fall on the ground or floor. They can get lost. They can be stepped on. Then what?

And since they use caps, it makes that gun fall into even weirder grey areas of the law.

Not worth the $30-$50. I also dont buy the hype.

Dracheous October 18th, 2006 18:55

Oh come on Gerylocks, if they had an AK version of this you'd be on it like flies on dung! I like the idea behind this gun but, yeah running around looking for shells would be a major pain. If those shells could be mass-produced in a way that it'd be cost effecient to just replace shells at the end of a game, ie. having a budget on ammo ((hey realism people! :P, just thinking running into a surplus store and having to walk out with a .30 cal ammo box full of these things! getting to sport more supplies intense scenarios and such)) all I really have to say is I want to see two things; 1. Full Auto and 2. a fracking SAW

Vowels October 18th, 2006 20:04

do they not make some sort of shell catcher for this type of thing? or maybe someone could invent it so you don't have to look for those damn shells?

Greylocks October 18th, 2006 20:20

A shell catcher for an AR will cost more than this gun is worth.

And no, Drach, I dont care what model it hides itself as. I think it's a useless piece of crap and I seriously doubt the advertisements.

Dustball October 19th, 2006 02:05

It can't be useless, everything has a use. It may be severly lacking in the performance field, but I could see this as being a great movie prop.

Greylocks October 19th, 2006 05:52

Movies use a lot of regular airsoft, and a few blank firing guns; just look at SG1 and most anything made lately.

Just this once I'll trust the judgement of experienced movie producers. They too dont want to use crap.

But if you all really want to buy this thing, go ahead. Dont come back here asking how to fix it or complaining later that it broke.
