Gas Guns (gas ba's that is) are pretty quiet in my experience....Spring guns make a definite twang sound when fired. Still not all that loud though.

I personally use the KJW M700 Takedown. I love the rifle. It is louder than a springer due to the gas, but like mentioned above, one shot one kill can demoralize a group and take the heat off your troops because they start worrying about the sniper that you become the focus. But with only one shot taken they cannot pinpoint your location.

Sitting there in your hide with the spotter looking out for targets. Seeing the unsuspecting players scurry around trying to make a play against your team. You slowly cock the bolt to the rear and hear it engage the next round. The feel of the trigger as you pull and hear the player...your victim....call hit. Then disappearing again. That is the ultimate feeling.....

Are you starting some airsoft sniper stories/fan fiction here? Lol.

A CA M24 is the workhorse of sniping. You need to upgrade it a lot in order to snipe anything.

but what about hte tanaka M700 AICS. i heard that this is one of the best BA sniper rifles you can buy. i also heard that gas powered rifles are better than spring. is that true?

Not quite as good as being surrounded, being fired upon from all sides, low on ammo, outgunned, outnumbered, outmaneuvered..and still holding your ground and taunting your enemy.

But hey, that's just me.

Wrong its the other way around but there is one BA that is quiet. VSR G-Spec.

Hades September 5th, 2007 20:34

My aps/2 makes a loud popping sound when shot. But then again it has a super strong spring in it that you pretty much have to prop the butt of it on your thigh to pull the bolt back.

The AICS is an awsome rifle. But shooting a gas rifle limit you depending on the weather. An all around perfect rifle would be a spring one.

Gas being better than spring, IMO, no. Gas only allow higher fps with less stress to the rifle, and the bolt is easyer to cycle.

With gas, you get inconsistency depending on the termerature and gas pressure. With a sping, the consistency is pretty stable, so you get better following shots.

As for the noise, both make a similar amount of noise. It's not audible from 150fps and up depending on the condition. The BB wacking it's target is louder.

Thats the one i shot. Damn it was quiet. And when the other player shot his Gas one it made a lot more noise. I altho though the CA M24 was deadly quiet.

My remington 870 has a long barrel and a 40 dollar scope. It may technically be a shotgun, but it has the range and accuracy to fit a sniper role. It's the only gun I use.

I find sniping depends more on the skill of the person rather than the equipment. As long as the gun will fire a .30 gram BB at least 200 yards with a grouping of less than a foot, it qualifies in my books as a sniper weapon.

Do not aim for the head.

I Wholeheartedly agree.

I don't think I have what it takes to play the sniper role (I like CQC too damn much), but yeah. Every kill would be alot more than... "zomg firefight!" ,and "zomg, I r teh winner".

Oh, another reason I wouldn't be able to do it is.. I don't like having things crawl on my nuts while I'm trying to calculate distance/wind/how much beer I'm going to drink afterwards. Really clouds yer brain.

Nothing violates you to the core like the feeling that someone is watching you and touching themselfves at the sametime, its even worse when you feel that they are enjoying it, and even worse when you can hear it but cant zone in on it.

Sniping can get costly if you use special heavier weight bbs. I do recommend them however, albeit I will not go into detail as to why, since AS YOU ARE READING THIS SENTENCE I AM TOUCHING MYSELF THINKING OF YOU! HAH!

Sweet. Usually, I can only think of one person while I'm wankin'. Guess you must be special, eh?

I tell ya, it gets pretty magical.
