If you can find the other post, it has a story explaining the reason behind this colour scheme.

Essentially the government in California created a ban list for a bunch of fire-arm attributes that looked scary or militaristic. A typical AR-15 would be banned under this law. So this guy took an AR-15, changed the necessary components and made it look "cute 'n cuddly" to spite the dumb law.

Didnt his wife also want her very own AR-15 and so he killed two birds with one stone? I think I remember reading that. Sadly the link to the guys blog is down....
