tan blends in a helluva lot better than black does. black doesnt occur naturally in nature.

In the prairies, theres only 2 or 3 months of heavy green foliage to play in. The rest of the year is dead, or dieing bush (spring and fall), in which tan works very well. Using Arid CADPAT with my tan SCAR is very effective at this time of year in Manitoba. Mind you, here we play from February/March till November, so we play in an asortment of environments. (Heck, we even had a game in January!)

I heard they have a mosquito coloured one for the prairies. Seriously!

My field is a partly wooded area, with an "urban" area we build in a field and yes we also have sand. I have the CA Tan Scar and love it. I also play in Multicam or OD and all my accessories are tan or OD.

FYI. There is a legit Desert in Canada. Smack dab in the middle of Spruce Woods on the #5 hiway Between Carberry Manitoba and Glenboro Manitoba. Been there lots, it is huge. My field is actually in Spruce woods, hence all the sand.

Paint it.

That's right! Buy the $900 tan one and paint it black. When you get sick of black scratch it off and use the tan.

I painted my CA scar like this;

No problems with the paint; i used a krylon base then Tamiya acrylic paint Then cover it up with 2 coat of krylon matt varnish for protection.

Nicely done Shakal, not a fan of it close up but the whole view ties together nicely.

i like the look of the tan.... and dont listen to the other guys... it will blend in, all you have to do is go to sasc. and play in the crops... you will blend in very well there :P but really tan looks better

Look at animals for guidance,

Brown = Grizzly Bear, Cougar

Black = Skunk, Squirrel.
