Will you be needing these for paintball, or impromptu backyard airsoft games with your cousin?

Paintball maybe in the future when I earn some more cash... but for now it is all just starting equipment... but I am still trying to future-proof myself. That is why I am wondering about either a mask or tactical goggles.

If you're getting paintball goggles, try to get thermal or dual lens ones. Helps to reduce fogging inside.

dont cheap out on PB masks. get either a Vforce Grill or an Empire E-Vents. they dont fog. SUPER LOW PROFILE, to the point where i can look down my gun sights (including iron) and they looks badass. they are expensive, but worth it.

I don't want to hijack your thread but this might be useful to both of us. Could someone confirm the protection value of those eye protection glasses?

It depends on what's important to you:

Go with Goggles / shemagh if:
- you need a tight cheekweld
- you need low profile goggles
- you're not too concerned with lower face / teeth protection
- you're not too concerned with airflow / breathability
- you're allowed to use tactical goggles on a paintball field or wherever you play

Go with paintball approved goggles if:
- where you play require paintball approved goggles
- cheekweld is less important
- don't mind higher profile goggles (most paintball goggles are bigger)
- want to protect your lower face / teeth
- easier to breathe

Since this will the first time your getting eye protection I highly recommend paintball goggles. Only because many airsoft games are held in paintball fields and the majority (if not all of them, at least the ones I've been to) will NOT allow anything but paintball approved goggles (mainly b/c their insurance companies tell them they have to).

Bolles, ESS, etc. goggles may be able to stop a shotgun blast but in the end your going to have to buy paintball approved goggles anyways if you want to play in many of the fields. What I ended up doing was buy some JT Elites and take off the face mask.

He actually won't be allowed in any games because of his age though, so I fail to see the point in encouraging backyard play...

Are you purposely being what your avatar says you are? Watch all the youtube videos on 10 and under children running around with them and shoot your mouth off on them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with somebody my age playing in this sport. Stop thinking so high of yourself because you are over 18. I am more than qualified to be able to play with airsoft, if not more than you, because I lack your quality of causing trouble... but you are right about being concerned about some people under 18 playing. :)Some can be real immature, but stop generalizing.

As far as someone your age playing being wrong, that's not exactly the point.

The point is that since you will not be playing regular games, where will you be playing? Most games are restricted to 18+, therefore as you yourself admitted will have to play in woods.

Now, that I do have a problem with.

My original suggestion still stands, take a few weeks to let the etiquette of this place sink in, instead of doing what every other self proclaimed mature minor has done before you and think before buying guns and gear.

The woods are all on my own family's property which is more than 100acres ... it is not on public property.

And why is this something you should be worrying about... do not be getting into others people lives of what is right and wrong, worry about yourself

Doesn't really matter how much property you have or whether it's private or public. I'm sure the OPP/RCMP/OPD doesn't take kindly to people dressed up as unidentified soldiers with automatic rifles around the nation's capital.
