The "kind sir" you refer to, was me. As I recall it didn't take anything extra to pop open the ejection port, just pull the charging handle.

*note, I dont work for VA.. was just near the table and Frank was busy. This guy looked lost, so I answered a few questions until Karnage was free.

On my TM, simply pulling the cocking handle didn't always release the port. I found I had to slightly pull the handle towards the left side of the gun while pulling it back so the little nub engaged the mechanism to unlock the port.

On the G&G, any counter-clockwise rotation of the charging handle during the initial length of the pull can result in non-release of the dust cover.

Might have changed. I've never owned one, I've just been told numerous times the shim jobs on G&G's were lousy (as well as the gears). Like I said though this may have changed.

@phantastik

Generally, if you need to ask "what do I need to upgrade", you don't need to upgrade. ;)

Haha I was so out of place XD.

Mostly just in awe of everything.

Ill try pulling the charging handle, it wasnt working yesterday, there's no way it somehow is malfunctioning right?

Might be a good idea for you to meet up with some local players and have them show you around your gun, how it works, what everything does, etc. It makes a lot more sense seeing it in person than explained on a forum.

I'm going out to an event asap, i know i can make it out to the march 1st event in the GTA

I'm mostly looking to meet some people who live nearby for carpooling etc

I tried pulling the dust cover release in one quick motion and such... still won't open..... D:

That and when i pull out a mag that has bb's still in it, it dumps about 3-4 bb's out.

Ugh i need to get someone who knows that they are doing to show me around it asap

Did you try using a pin like I said?

That's normal for all AEGs.

phantastik, you should be able to release the dust cover by a backup means. Find a needle (or anything equally sharp and pointy). Look at the dark block structure on the outside of the dust cover. That houses the catch. Along the top edge of the block, there should be a small hole (it's more elongated than round). Poke the needle into it and push down, that should release the catch and drop the dust cover open.

Just tried that, must have missed this post or something, works like a charm.

:) thanks.

As far as getting the BBS to feed from the mag without holding the magazine anything else i should be thinking of doing other than the drops of oil someone suggested

I've experienced miss feeding like this when I have the Hop Up turned off. Adjust the hop up so that the bb's are firing straight (you need a good 50 feet to see them drop/straight/raise) and the gun may start feeding properly. Don't crank the hop all the way on though. Start in the off position and slowly increase it until the shots stop dropping.

phantastik February 24th, 2009 10:21

I'm using low caps right now.

phantastik February 25th, 2009 08:33

Yea the mags feel ridiculously loose in the receiver... going to go out and crank the hop up... that or you know... some good old fashioned taping the mag into the gun D:

vfr86 February 25th, 2009 12:00

how loose are we talking here? the mag will probably wiggle a bit, that's pretty normal. as long as it does not impede the feeding of ammo into the chamber, or the mag falls out when you're walking or running, i wouldn't fiddle around with it to much.

we're talking if i dont hold the bottom of the mag to force it upwards nothing comes out of the gun
