Crunch— your inox was a very limited gun, so there was only a short supply of slides, most metal releases were in fmu kit form, which are all long gone.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I like having this nice limited edition gun (inox with the white grip plates, even more rare than the inox with black). But parts are a bitch. If I could get one custom made, I would consider it. I would love to actually be able to use this gun, even just for plinking. It's just incredible. It looks and feels great, and shoots even better.

Sucks to have this beauty sitting in a case all the time. :(

BEAUTY!

Amazing how the WA finish is
actually metal plated to abs.

They bond copper first since it
sticks to anything, and then the
fancy metals get a thin layer.

Hence why most WA's feel and
look like metal. The abs chamber
is done the same way on most
1911/2011's. I think TM does the
same thing on their bling abs.

You could find a basic black
side for that gun, and then get
it plated to match the frame?

Had considered getting a black slide and getting it refinished to match, but as I said, the only place that I managed to see black were all sold out, and emails indicated that they didn't expect to get any more in. It would definitely be a lot cheaper than getting a custom one made.

You'll have to wait for something
to surface on the used market.
Keep watching US forums and
eBay. When you see a gun for
sale, take it all minus the frame.
It'll be quite less than buying here.

The seller also has to be willing
to do the disassembly.

Crunchmeister October 8th, 2009 14:32

Yeah, I had considered that, actually. Even if the seller just wanted to send the slide and its internals, I'd still pay the full US price for it, as it would be cheaper. I may have to start searching again. It's been a long time since I last looked. Not tonight though. I'll be picking up my new toy at the post office that that will keep me quite busy. ;)

Awesome, so the parcel arrived?

Enjoy.

Crunchmeister October 8th, 2009 14:42

I was home at lunch time to find the delivery had been attempted 10 minutes earlier. I'll be picking it up from the post office on the way home.
