I measured my original TM spring to be 9mm, and the Element one to be 10mm.

Try a king arms one from illusion, I've had success with those, I think I bought his last 2 though :D

I've used Guarder spring in all my 1911/2011 build(minus the open gun, it uses Airsoft surgeon, bought it as a test part)....none have any issue....SD slide(plug), AS plug, stock 1911 plug, Nova plug, 9Ball plug....etc

ILLusion October 13th, 2009 23:26

I've never had any problems with Guarder springs, either...

ujiro October 13th, 2009 23:29

Weird. Because when I got it, it wouldn't compress at all into the spring plug. I mean it would go in, but when it was coiled up, it would not fit into the spring plug.

I've had problems with half the Shooters Design spring guide bushings... basically, the interior was extremely rough and/or not reamed out to the proper inner diameter. Attacking it with a cylindrical file helped alleviate the issue.

RacingManiac October 14th, 2009 00:17

^ Same issue....Very odd that the SD does everything else so well, but their guide bushing/plug is so shoddy....

Yeah I've been doing this. It is much much better than it was originally. I'm going to keep going at it I guess until it works perfectly.

Guarder springs worked fine with mine. AS springs are fine too.

I just got a KJW 6" Hi-Capa, guarder 150% spring fit just nice. The spring fit perfectly on WE 5.1" Hi-capa as well.
