Same for me, hoping they release the stanag soon, and not for double the price of the thermold!

Saberwing January 31st, 2011 20:19

They better not cost $75 a piece... That's fucking ridiculous for a magazine... I'm hoping they're about $40each...

HKp30-

No camera with me right now so I will try and describe the SCS mod:
The SCS is run on the bucking with the bulge taken off the outside of the bucking. You then have to trial and error grind down the hop-up arm until it isn't overhopping.
I did find that I needed a way to keep the SCS in place, for that I found a thin piece of kydex kept it from getting pushed forward when putting the barrel in. Also a little sticky silicone grease will help it stay in place.

Love the set-screw hop-up you've got going on there. I find that I rarely/never adjust the hop-up on this gun in the field so something like that would work great for me.

I'm curious as to how you modded that barrel to work with the KJW hop-up? I'm not really impressed with either the RA-tech or Cradle barrels.

Cheers,
Grant

The EDGI barrel I picked up has been outstanding. It was a KJ ready barrel, no modifying.

HKp30 February 1st, 2011 00:47

If you did find the need to adjust in the field for some reason, you could always change to a different style screw, I just prefer the flush look along with set it & forget it.

The barrel is the stock KJW barrel, no modification required.

Anyone tried the RA-Tech hop-up bucking?

Here's the problem with my tigger: YouTube - KJW M4 Trigger Problem
I've tried cleaning it and greasing it. Nothing has worked yet. Any ideas?

@Saverwing

My trigger has a late response as well, although I know what my problem is. When I swapped out for a metal receiver one of the trigger springs was in the wrong spot, not by much but it affects the reset.

Try taking apart your lower receiver (I know it may seem like too much work, but its not that bad) and re-assembling it.
Unfortunately there isn't much on the internet on doing this so go by explosion diagrams and also if you have a clear lower, it makes it easier as well.

Hope this helps

I thought you had a PDI tightbore modified to work?

O, haha, I thought you were talking outer barrel.

Yes the tight bore is a PDI

@ audi_bhoy

I purchased two of them through a local retailer. Unfortunately, he does not have any more, and I was only fortunate enough to get them because he wasn't using them.

Try asking your local retailer.

audi_bhoy February 1st, 2011 22:11

So, if you have 2 of them, you might have one sitting around? :D Yeah I'd figure that only retailers could have those, but it seems I can only have access to plastic ones, and I've already got one on it...

Nay. Bshantz sold one of his fmu gbbrs to me. :).

Regarding the mags from cradle. I'm not chums with him but when I asked about them he replied that things were close to being done HOWEVER because they were initially using real stanag shells they ran into export issues with ITAR. They are mod things right now and from what I understand they are going to do. Custom made shell so there won't be ITAR issues.

HOW THE HECK do I loose the castle nut ? mine is all scratched now :( even with plyers...it doesn't budge...

audi_bhoy February 4th, 2011 18:57

For your metal body I could send you a barrel wrench :)

Anyone has hints on where to find a metal lower body? I do want one badly these days!!
