Not the best picture in the world, but I said I'd post a pic eventually:

Question for you guys. If I were to put a DD MK18 9.5" RIS II on my M4 length PTW, would I still be able to keep the stock triangle sight, or would I need to pick up a rail mounted sight? I don't have access to mine and was looking to pick one up before I get a chance to go home, otherwise I would have just measured myself.
Thanks |
The triangle sight is at 7". You'll have to go with a rail mounted sight if you go with the 9.5".

Thanks for the info! Where do you guys order most of your parts from? Im looking to pick up the above rail, as well as a CQB length barrel. Not sure if you guys shop overseas or if there is a place that would sell them on this side of the pond. I see that Airsoftparts has the rail, but can't seem to find a place that would have the barrel. |

Worth a try, I'll send them an email

so far both my guns are from them and my tw 5 is on order with them. Also for rails it goes down to your own preference. You can get real steel, china clones or a madbul..for madbul some go stright on and others you need a special gbb ptw barrel nut.... in the end i went with a clone that just used my stock delta ring... 5 minutes to install and done... was solid enough for me... didnt rattle or nothing. I picked up the rail from airsoftdepot who is a vendor on the site. |
You can not go wrong doing business with Double Tap. They are awesome when it comes to PTW's.

I've tried all manner or rails on a PTW. I have yet to find a clone that I like for any money, with the exception of the King Arms CASV-EL. Even though it is significantly heavier than the real VLTOR CASV, it is solid.
I'm more or less done with clone stuff for the PTW. I'm sticking to buying real candy for it. |
I had thought about going the low end clone route in order to spend the extra funds on other clone externals like PEQ15, Lights, Grip, Optics, etc. But figured the Madbul was a nice compromise. Real steel DD rails are not in my budget atm, but can definitely appreciate when they are used.
Also, I have heard that the MK18 rails have no issue going on as compared to the Lites and Omegas, which is a plus in my books. |
my omega went on fine, though i decided to go a different direction with my gun so now i have to sell my 7" omega. biggest problem i had was that i did not have all the proper tools handy.....all my tools are at work lol

Finally you have seen the light.....there is no substitute....Real Steal all the way I tried both CASV-EL also and the clones just gets marks too easily by just by clicking the rail together... |
