Sorry for the necropost
Just wondering if anyone else had luck making a PTT work for the Yaesu VX 7R like Jimmy did? I'm trying to make the 3 below items work together. MSA Sordin Nexus U94 PTT Yaesu VX 7R I also have a Yaesu THREADED/WATERPROOF cable to install in the Nexus PTT. Also do I still need to change the MIC to a high Impedance? Any help is greatly appreciated |
Alternative to getting an AN/PRC-148 clone is to buy the PRC to XTS adapter. It will allow coonection to a Motorola XTS/Jedi radio. This radios can be found on ebay for $50 to $100. They are milspec radios and the MT/MTS have 64/128 ch.

I've got the Toy Soldier PRC-148 replica. Can anyone recommend a supplier for the speaker/microphone which I've seen for this radio?
