they should have seen the writing on the wall for their old business model after CA managed to get it's brand out there, instead all they did was continue on the slow-methodical path towards obscurity

meh, companies that believe they can do no wrong all end up the same.. bankrupt.

They don't even play to the same market...CA is HK based, Marui is like WA/Maruzen/Maruishin/KSC, all of their market is in Japan and we just get someone from there to export them out. They don't need the market oversea, but now they see the oppotunity to do so....

Not sure why the TM hate-fest everytime they announced some new products, yes compare to the abundance of clones out there now their guns are now looks like overpriced. But TM is like the definition of appliance in airsoft world. You buy them, charge it, and it'll run, sure your ACM clones might do better, some might even work for a while out of the box, but lots needs to be tinkered to run reliably, and not everyone is going to do that.

EBB might not be my cup of tea, but there are people who use them, and its nice that they are coming out with a brand new gun, with the recoil engine, uses their new gen M4 mags.

Nothing needs to be said for their GBB pistol, they just work....

A TM XD-M would be awesome. The double stack mag would be close to real steel capacity too (19 rounds). Give an option if you don't want to carry a glock, holsters are already widely available.

+1. TM started the whole AEG thing in 1990 and their technology and QC is now very mature and stable.

Their new full metal airsoft with recoil engine is still much more reliable than other brands. It really fits the "out of the box" players like me.

TM never seems to disappoint. Those funky coloured accessories look narly

As stated before, any company that feels it doesn't need to make more profit ends up with the rest.. on the scrap heap.

I love marui (first AEG was the then new(ish) SR16) and i do recommend them, i just feel that the company does its self no favours in the international market.

*shudders at the 'boys' line*

also: i'd love to run a high cycle off of a 11.1 lipoly... does anyone have a video of that?

Dayuuum those rifles look nice! I almost had no interest in picking up an AR until I saw the pictures.

So what is the difference between the "recce rifle" and SOPMOD M4 ?
Or am I a dumbass and they're the same?

Did someone say Full metal from TM?

Stealthee October 24th, 2010 01:14

If TM continues to make more EBB and push it out there, I believe it may take over the old AEGs over time.

I doubt it, They dont have stuff that outside Japan want...
Unique Magazine
Hard to deal with mechbox
Low FPS (280 is hard to feel it when you're shooting people over 100ft)
Hard to find parts

Their recoil engine try to resolve other competition's point but loses out ultimately.

recoil, GBBR clearly beats it, if not EBB from other system where parts are easier to find and replace

mechbox, they still have that hard takedown whereas ARES, ICS have easier time

last round stop shooting, PTW is bigger in this and still wins.

I beg to differ the new EBB system isn't hard to take down at all.

There's one MAJOR driving factor for Marui guns... QUALITY AFTERMARKET SUPPORT Prometheus and other high quality upgrade manufacturers aren't going to be making parts specifically desiged for your "DBOYS M4A1" They're going to support Marui and build the aftermarket based around that.

(a few months after Marui released their EBB system, Prometheus released quality upgrades for it.)

TaroBear October 24th, 2010 12:10

I'd think that if the EBB thing caught on, parts would become readily available, and clone mags would be all over the place.

Bam. Gets rid of the "unique magazine" problem.

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/catalogse...&y=0&limit=all

All the upgrade parts you'd need.
