nope, the part that has the serial number on the RS version is the part that is illegal to import, on M4s the number is on the lower and that's why its illegal. on the scar the number is on the upper so that is the part that is illegal

Just to add my two cents from my own experience:

The part on all weapons which is considered restricted, is the housing of the trigger group. In an Armalite, it's the lower, the AK, the lower, the MP5, the lower. In 1911 it's the lower frame, in Glocks it's the lower frame, in 2011's (HiCapas) it's the middle frame.

But in some rifles, like the AUG and P90, it's the upper.

I don't know shit about the SCAR, but just because it has a serial on the upper, doesn't mean it houses the trigger group there: in fact I doubt it does as it's a non-bullpup weapon.

Ultimately, it's the judgment of the CBSA agent who inspects the package if it's good to go, which is why some few select people have ordered all black guns online from the USA and have had them arrive intact.

Others have had clear lowered guns confiscated (and all clear springer pistols). There is no set pattern. The CBSA is like their own country, if an agent deems it illegal for border crossing: it will not make it.

.

I don't now if that's true. If you look at the mp5's that Ken at 007 is selling they have clear uppers and a black trigger group. I don't know much about mp5's but it looks like they disassemble kinda the same way as the SCAR. I still really hope I'm wrong and we can get scars easy!

MP5 has the serial number on the upper receiver.. the upper is the restricted part.

really I doubt it matters much .. itcomes down the the judgment of the cbsa agent.. so some may get em through others not so much

when these are released we can try a part out and pack in and see if they fly..

For this, you're looking at about $1100.

He means the clear version. The WE SCAR L is sold for $220USD @ WGC shop. should cost around $400~500 here

Bwahahaha!!!!It's funny that you can't get the clear plastic toy into the country while the RS is made in Ontario. Gun laws are f#%&ed!

This thread is explaining a lot about the import laws in our beloved country. However, there is still some conflicting info here: is it trigger group or serial number?

Sounds to me like some of you guys are trying to rationalize inconsistent and irrational behavior.

Good luck with that.

Did he say anywhere that he had no clue it could get seized ? You're just making assumptions here based on things that weren't said anywhere. I know that he knew it was a gamble.

Yeah and it's a shame too. They are not harmful, why are they banned? I know it's been discussed to death.

The underlining issue is the realism resemblance of the gun(s).

So the bottom line is that the we TEch SCAR is illegal because the lower receiver is not clear? Then why are they for sale on some canadian airsoft sites? I have one and i plan to play with it. On the box it said that it is custom made for the canadian market but the lower receiver is not clear, it is tan plastic. That would be illogical.
