I have a KWA M1911, it isn't the best gun for some reason the slide will always catch and it get very annoying to keep releasing it evey time you shoot it. And the mag release button is very sensitive and ive droped the mag a few times now. So I do not reccomend the KWA version. Although, KWA makes a very nice USP.45.

I actually see where you're coming from too. Trust me if I could fit myself with Arc'teryx, MSR, OR, Breithaupt, and that kind of gear I would, but in terms of economy it might be wise to get slightly lower quality but for cheaper.

As for replacement parts, officially KWA does not offer support to KSC pistols however the parts should fit and you should be able to buy the parts needed off the KWA website. That said I have not used them yet, as well they're also the same OEM parts that broke in the first place so they're not upgrades, rather they're just replacement parts.

PS: Does anyone know if the KWA "Specwar" NS2 (Mk.23) slide catch will fit in a KSC Mk.23 "Old Version" (pre-2005)? I kind of need one since it got lost.

My TM Hicapa is pretty much all plastic except the frame, but it's really hard to tell, even when touching it.

Plus, it makes a beautiful sound each time it's fired.

Personally, I'm pretty good at fixing AEGs, but I know little about how to fix gas pistols. For that reason, having a reliable secondary that I don't have to worry about breaking is a big plus for me. We've all been in situations where your secondary saved your ass...
I'm not super concerned with rigs or other gear, I go for simplicity and functionality... I'm also a cheapass. Russians don't usually care about gear. Gimme a hoodie, camo pants, and a pair of adidas and I'm good to go.

Buy quality, or buy twice. My TM 1911 is 4 years old roughly, still completely stock, and still running like a champ, and I do game it alot as my primary sidearm. Ive run it on nothing but propane and .28's, and I havnt had to replace a SINGLE peice yet...

Yup, Renegade makes an excellent point. My TM 1911 as well was 2 years old, but I gamed it every week, probably lubed it 10 times in those 2 years, dropped it down a flight of stairs, had it shot by an aeg at the middle of the plastic slide at 350fps, it was stock and nothing ever broke. I'd like to see another brand of 1911 take that kind of abuse

I have a liking for KSC pistols, but in the care of the 1911, I would probably go TM just because of the availability of aftermarket parts. You may find the odd part for other brands, but nothing that comes close to TM.

Although if you're willing to do some light upgrades, KJW 1911 are TM compatible, and that starts you off with a metal frame and slide (metal frame being the hard to get part). You can always upgrade with a high quality aluminum slide and other TM compatible aftermarket parts down the road. But if you want something that will work out of the box with no tomfoolery required, chances are that TM is your best bet.

Just as a side note, I'd personally go Hi-Capa instead. Those TM mags have real crap gas capacity.

Crunchmaster is correct. 1911s don't hold alot of gas in the mag. The mag holds 21, and I usually had 1 or 2 bb's left after the mag ran out of gas. That being said, if you load it realcap (7 rounds) you will have excellent results. I switched to a hi-capa platform because I liked the 1911 look, but not the gas capacity. The hi-capa holds more than enough gas to fire a whole mag. Once again TM makes awesome hi capas, which are the standard for most people who customize hi-capas. KJW also stepped up their hi-capas as they are TM clones, and even accept TM Hi-Capa mags.
