I haven't heard any good things about the site... Only orders being dropped, seized, or screwed up

ScooterVauto July 8th, 2010 22:09

hi guys. First, like i mentioned, I made my purchase BEFORE looking for reviews and i fully acknowledege tht i am greener then green and totally NOOBY when it come to Airsoft online transactions with certain companies... That said,

All the posts where people are bitching are VERY old..
they are old for one of 2 reasons.
1 they still suck and the universe doesnt shop there anymore
or
2 Someone got fired and the new guy is a proper shipper (or an IT guy hell maybe both, I am hahahah I was, IT blows SOOO Boring when you do it right hahah)..

UPS and brokerage fees.. ok Little story bought 4 orders of Rc heli parts out of Boomtown hobby..
Use the Customs broker My Company deals with (Im one of the Shipper/recievers)
one day the account comes down and asks me about boomtown.. I tell her of the orders and ask what i owe.. ..... wait for it..... 4 @ $50.00 yup $200 in brokerage fees... I know about UPS and brokerage fees Thanks...

Right now confidence is high.. simply due to the next update... yup. read the next post..

seriously if you want to guarantee your order at evike.com you seriously have to call them and ask them to physically check the item you order to make sure its in stock and ask them process your order since they reply too long to process your order on your evike account. Even it was in stock. I wouldnt wast my money ordering at evike.com because once the package get to door step. UPS will charge you for brokerage fee, its another 20-25 bucks fee on top of your 25-30 dollar shipping fee.

If it comes to that, I will call directly you betcha..

But what you missed.. Shipping is Via united states POSTAL service.
The COST IS $45.00
now that said, I have ordered a variety of items from the states and the most i was ever charged for brokerage fees was $32.00 on a parcel with
a declared value of $3800.00. and a shipped wt of 46 lbs (one Box)
Most of the parcels i get average $200.00 under 3 lbs and have a at the door brokerage fee of around $8.50 through the USPS system.
this order is 171 with $45 in shipping (by far the most i have EVER paid for a package this light and small)
but it all hindges on weither it actually arrives as discribed..
right now everyone is just spouting old second hand news..
granted there are a few people who ordered prior but have yet to chime in..
Maybe they are waiting to Flame the hell ouuta me once the whole deal falls apart, or maybe they are waiting to see what happens as well.
either way, I look forward to the next 2 weeks (likely going to take that long to get here once shipped.

thanks for your input either way

This pretty much sums it up.

I'm not sure you're trying to convince us more than yourself that little order won't end up a huge crash and burn.

Not 100% of Evike orders end in failure, but a very percentage do. We try to warn people, as we warn people about not using UPS for cross-border shipping.

The warnings are there for a reason. This order may go well for you but the next one won't; then your next post will be an angry review warning people not to shop there, until some other guy decides "hey, maybe they aren't so bad. I'll try them anyway."

Either way, good luck, but a play-by-play blog of your transaction isn't necessary.

Eeyore July 9th, 2010 13:14

Sorry Scooter but I had mada an order with Evike last year because they were the only retailer who carried what I needed. I purchased two pistol mags at $28.00 each, for a total of $58.00 ( thats right for some reason in the Evike world 28x2=58). Ok so after I sent three emails to sort this out cause I wasn't about to let that fly, they manually adjusted my cart. I checked ou and waited for a shipping quote, which was $30. Having no choice I paid and waited, 28 days later my stock arrived along with a fee from UPS (thats right regardless of what they say they use UPS) for brokerage in the amount of $23.00. So now my order of $56 cost me a total of $109. But I guess you are right they must have cleaned up their act. I truely do hope you get your order hassle free, but don't hold your breath. If you read my sig you will understand.

etd July 9th, 2010 14:28

FYI just because the product you ordered says it's in stock doesn't mean squat. I made the mistake of going through evike for 9+ unique parts I couldn't find anywhere else (belive me when I said I looked). After paying over $90 in shipping and handling fees for $280 worth of an order ( which weighed in at 4.1lbs btw) I had a status that said "shipped". Long story short it wasn't shipped. 2 parts had been placed on back order. Two months into my order I placed phone call #9 and they FINALLY said yes these parts are on back order. It took me 3 1/2 months to reciever my items and after 19 days I was already demanding a refund which they replied with"you are entitled to a 20% refund of your order if you wish to confirm your cancellation. 20% (because my status said shipped when in reality it had never lef the warehouse) of $280 and I wouldn't get their "shipping and handling" costs back (& only once I returned the shipmen). Btw when I recieved my order there was an awesome UPS sticker showing a shipping quote of $21...... Evike charged me over $90. Get out while you can man.. Zz

Sixx July 9th, 2010 15:12

I place an Evike order about once every 5-6 weeks.....never had any trouble with them. From bbs to gear to conversion kits.

ScooterVauto July 9th, 2010 19:16

Drake, Eeyore & ETD.
I dont mind telling you, after placing my order and THEN reading ASC reviews (and other airsoft forums) I'll Admit,
I figure my head is going to drop out my ass and break my fucking neck.. of this i am almost positive.

But the only thing I can do to prevent me laying on the ground in the fetal position is acknowledge most post are quite old.

I dont mind telling you that i expect issues, I dont mind telling you that i expect parts to be wrong or other wise missing. I dont mind telling you that i tend to find lemon in a sugar bowl...
But every once and a while a long shot pays off and makes the whole endevour worth while..

At this point the whole thing rests on what happens at the company now a days..
If this works out and the extra fees dont bust my hump to badly, I may try
another order in the future. But if it craps like most of you expect, then Yes you are correct drake..
you'll all see a 300 lbs man with a grude and an email begging forgivness for being a fool with a paypal account and ASC resources he should have used in advance hahah

I Also admit freely that,
"from this point on any online purchase will be thoughly research at ASC PRIOR to
any transactions... (C ican learn just cant spell well :) )

And Sixx Thank you buddy, that makes me feel WAY better :)
Ciao boys

update -- they emailed that they have received the shipping fee payment, now its just upto them to ship it (no more big updates just little ones like this :) )

ScooterVauto July 13th, 2010 20:13

yup they still suck

july 13 2010.. Called to find they had not received my Shipping payment..
confrimed they received it, and set me to shipping, shipping confirmed they had 1
of the 4 parts i wanted....
I cancelled the order
:Hangs head in shame:

EVIKE still sucks

and although i know you'll be understanding enough to not say
"I told you so" but let the flaming begin hahah
SO i need to get VSR parts (spring guide, Zero or V trigger, Piston & the 14mm ccw barrel adapter)...
which would prove to be the best place to go?
Uncompany, Tokyo Model, ehobbyasia or redwolf (i have bought from them before but the parts are currently sold out)

Outcast569 July 13th, 2010 20:46

X-fire.org is where I get everything for my vsr.

ScooterVauto July 13th, 2010 20:50
