Could be Tokyo Marui - don't forget they have some new gas operating system coming up VERY soon that is patented and "licensed" in 7 "major countries".... hrmmm....

McCrea April 19th, 2013 12:38

As I understand something is not right with "Yih Kai" KWA's manufacturer...

If it's TM, then nice move Kriss.

JDoorn April 19th, 2013 12:51

I called that yesterday...

Drake April 19th, 2013 13:15

TM would be really bad for us, though: looking at the track record, it seems unlikely TM would make a >366 fps gun. Plus I think "Tokyo Marui" is still a dirty word around CBSA.

So the only available to us would be small quantity of inflated priced, smuggled imports.

I'm curious if KWA will continue putting out unlicensed/unbranded copies, or even some rogue clone like the WE SMG8 (MP7).

pusangani April 19th, 2013 13:39

Watch and see KSC comes out with one just to fuck with them lol

My money is on Umarex though

And I also heard on r/airsoft a few KWA employees actually left KWA to go work at Kriss

ThunderCactus April 19th, 2013 15:17

unless it's the exact same internal design, I don't see how they could make it better.
Lighter, maybe, but hard pressed to make it more reliable.
I loved EVERY single bit of detail they put into the internals. Heavily reinforced air nozzle, guides, guide stops, and most importantly the cup style piston head.
Maybe some of that is a bit overkill, but you know it'll last.

Szevin April 19th, 2013 22:36

...damn. Bad timing for making a trade on a new KRISS Vector... Should I be regretting this yet? Lol fak...

GRIM April 19th, 2013 22:51

Szevin I was just thinking the samething, I just got my KWA Vector a week ago with 2x mags... I hope I can still get mags, and parts if they ever break! Because I absolutely love this gun! Its dam n awesome!

theres some rumors getting thrown around at GGI that KWA has to take a hiatus or start restructuring or something, but they will probably cease production of everything for a few months.

this has really been a long time coming. when they changed ownership almost a year ago, they have been talking about big changes. maybe this is the beginning of those big changes.
No truth to that statement at all, as well as many others.

Let me clarify one thing, KWA will not cease operation and will continue to have product support for these products. It's only the one product that we will not produce, not the entire KWA line of products. We will have parts and support for those of you that have the product.

KWA is not shutting down or restructuring. No need to shut down as we have been getting regular shipments and have been shipping out products.

It is also a huge overstatement to say that half of the KWA staff QUIT. A few quit to work for another company and a few got let go, however the rest of us are here and it is business as usual.

If you have any questions about products or support, please visit the KWA Help Desk at www.kwausa.com/support.

Thank you all for your support

Nope... KWA is done. They can no longer produce and distribute the GBB Vector. Nor the AEG version that's in the work since last year. I know.... I was there.

Perhaps a better question should be asked "What did Yih Kai (KWA's manufacturer and owner) have done to ###### off Kriss?"

There is not much more I can say publicly at this moment. But I will say this.... what they did, not only cause one person to quit US office. More than HALF of KWA staffs in US have QUIT their job. Think about that.

This was posted on Arnies. This explains everything
FYI
Allizard is now working with KRISS

Aww this means no Sphinx SDP either most likely. And if KWA has lost that many people, it will probably take even longer for my Makarov to be released. Faaaaaaaaaaack.

Szevin April 21st, 2013 10:15

Sucks for both parties.

That's KWA USA if the design were still done by KSC japan, it's not affected. To me I think moving designing from KSC Japan and KWA to KWAUSA was a poor choice.

I really wonder what is propiertary on the KSC/KWA design? (ie is there a patent to protect it? If not one might suspect TDI simply hired the KWAUSA folks to create the KWA vector)

ThunderCactus April 21st, 2013 11:03

I guess it depends if the airsoft gun plans are owned by KWA or KRISS.
If KWA developed the gun, it stands to reason the blueprints are theirs to own. But they can't do anything with them without KRISS licensing
