Nice review, thanks.

Also, If I've read the thread correctly, the M500 handguards should get through ok as well?

dman September 24th, 2005 17:10

Might want to ask Jhay-Ar about that. I think he is ordering some.

Fox Hound September 24th, 2005 18:02

sorry i forgot to update, lol i got it a week ago and its fricken awesome! it makes my m4 alot more stylish. Its only a red dot; has 10 bright settings thats it. Worth the money if u want the looks.

dman September 27th, 2005 15:33

I just got mine today. As everyone before hand has said, it does look quite nice. I will post up a review with lots of pictures as soon as I get the chance.

This may be a bit off topic, but how would I put this on a TM M4? I know I have to remove the Carry Handle, but I would like to know if the front iron sight interfers w/ the RDS. Just wanted to know before I buy :D

Digital_Assasin September 28th, 2005 19:08

You don't have to remove the handle. You'll just have to purchase an adapter.

You can get them here when they are in stock and other places.

Or take the carry handle off and have a flat top M4.

My question was regarding wether or not front iron site (the triangle thing for a lack of better description) would interfer w/ the RDS

Jhay-Ar September 28th, 2005 19:14

yes in a way the triangle sight does interfere,..but you will "see through it" if you understand what i mean.its a trick of the eyes,..so itll work even if its in the way.

Digital_Assasin September 28th, 2005 19:14

EDIT* see post above. ^

CalvinTat September 28th, 2005 19:18

Alright, Thanks a lot guys. Now... time to buy that ACOG and a few other goodies :D Thank you Mister Klein for my X-mas gift :) (Although I still hate you Klein!!)

A lot of people purposely "co-sight" their rifles so that the Red Dot scope is inline with the iron sights. This allows you to use the iron sights incase the Red Dot malfunctions, or in extremely bright conditions (ie: shooting into the sun) where it is very difficult to view the projected red dot. I have done the "co-sight" setup, and it is great. As said before, when you focus on the red dot, you will barely even notice the iron sights.

firemachine69 September 29th, 2005 00:05

The "co-sight" method is an incorrect way to use a RDS. However, this is airsoft, not the real deal, so it's permitted.

(FYI the real Aimpoint is pretty much always set to below max brightness, even in daytime, it's just too bright from what I'm hearing.)

Maelstrom September 29th, 2005 00:11

if co-sighting is the wrong way to use an RDS then why are so many aimpoint mounts made to line up with the front triangle sight for co-sighting?

dman September 29th, 2005 01:03

First time I've heard that firemachine, where exactly did you hear this from?

Jhay-Ar September 29th, 2005 05:05

in regards to "co-sighting"...i dont know if it actually works but it might if your RDS mount was in line with the sights.this is dependant on your mounts though.if you have an L-mount,it wont line up,but it might with a cantilever mount, but im not sure on that.also,..there are ring mounts that have the see through bottom which allows you to use the tirangle sights while the RDS is still installed...i think most cantilever mounts should also have holes at the shaft so that you can use the iron sights with the RDS.
