If KWA developed the gun, it stands to reason the blueprints are theirs to own. But they can't do anything with them without KRISS licensing

Yes that's true. However, KRISS could easily clone it and KWA can't do anything unless they have patent on the hopup, NS2 system -something of that nature.

KWA can't produce it on the grounds of patent in Super V system

yes exactly, no matter what it's a lose-lose situation. So something big must have gone down

I really wonder what is propiertary on the KSC/KWA design? (ie is there a patent to protect it? If not one might suspect TDI simply hired the KWAUSA folks to create the KWA vector)

That's the wrong assumption.

KWAUSA or KWA Performance Industries is for business development, marketing, distribution, customer service and service center.

Design belongs to Yih Kai. Who employed ex-KSC engineers more than 10 years ago for majority of the design. Yih Kai is the owner of KWA Brand and the OEM for KSC Japan.

I can tell you this, those KSC MP7 sold in Japan labeled Made is Japan is total BS. They are all assembled at Yih Kai assembly plant before shipping to Japan.
KSC haven't spend a dime on the design of MP7 and the Vector . About the only thing they contribute is the 2nd gen hop-up found on the new LM4, Vector and some of the new pistols.

Also for the record, Kriss also separated with TDI. Most people didn't know much of the details either. So don't expect TDI will be contacting anyone making the airsoft Vector.

At least according to the internet.

ThunderCactus April 24th, 2013 12:24

But is KRISS owned by coke or pepsi? =p

GRIM April 25th, 2013 11:41

So simple question? Should I sell my new Vector ASAP or will I be able to get mags, and parts if needed?

McCrea April 25th, 2013 11:48

KWA representatives said that parts and mags will be available. They will not be able to sell the full gun that`s all

GRIM April 25th, 2013 12:03

ok awesome thanks for the quick reply.

City of Industry, CA – June 4th , 2013 – It has come to our attention that some confusion over KWA's continued right to market and sell the KRISS Vector SMG GBB and related licensed products may have been created by certain publicly released statements, including those made by KRISS and its management.

KWA is aware of such unfortunate statements, it vigorously disputes them and intends to take all necessary and appropriate steps to fully enforce its rights to market and sell such products.

We appreciate and highly value your long-term support and confidence in doing business with KWA. It is our most sincere wish to continue providing you with the products and service of the best possible quality.

There is multiple announcements on airsoft tan and tan/black KRISS in the news. Are these from KWA or KRISS?

KWA, they recently release a limited amount of Tan Kriss to the market. Saw them being promoted on Airsoft GI.

Thenooblord November 15th, 2013 23:24

Looks tacky as hell, but Its still fifty times better than the painted tan vectors I've seen

R.I.T.Z November 15th, 2013 23:59
