Hmmm....I'll have to check with the local MP unit and see if they've done the same. Wouldn't be surprised with the Eotech recall.

A lot of people sent theirs back for a refund, but I kept mine. I really like the 1moa reticle, though I'm not knocking Aimpoint's 2moa dot, I still run one of those on my Mk18 clone.

Yeah, our MPs apparently sent all their Eotechs back already.

So anyone trying to build a C8IUR CANSOFCOM or UKSF variants, this is the one! The only difference I've been able to discern so far is that the UK variants retained the Grenade Launcher Lug whereas CANSOFCOM's version has it removed.

Obviously they're RS uppers and kinda pricy. At the very least though, these are some of the best reference images we've seen yet! I'm sure more will appear when the pre-orders start shipping.

Can i buy an c7a2 from you?

CANSOFCOM C8CQB/IUR Muzzle Device & Suppressor

19 Attachment(s)
Not really new information but I thought I'd post specifics on the CANSOFCOM specific muzzle device & suppressor that is often seen on CSOR, JTF2 & CJIRU CQB length C8's. As far as I can tell this two-piece muzzle device has only ever been seen on CF Special Forces C8's and the sometimes seen 7.62mm AR10 Supper SASS DMR. The combination is designed to allow attachment of the Ops. Inc. 15th Model Suppressor often seen in use by CANSOFCOM members. The two pieces are as follows:

Smith Enterprises "Vortex" G6A2-SBV with 22x1 mm RH O.D. thread with 1/2-28 I.D. thread (Smith product# 1001-V-G6-A2-SBV)
http://www.smithenterprise.com/products06.05.html (5th item down)

Attachment 53417

Description (As per midwayusa.com):

Smith Enterprise Vortex Flash Hider 1/2"-28 Thread with M22x1.0 Outside Thread for Ops Inc Suppressors and SEI Sound Moderators

Used by US armed forces worldwide, the US Dept of Homeland Security and law enforcement agencies across the nation, the Vortex flash hider features a patented 15 degree, right hand helical flute design that effectively eliminates muzzle flash. Machined from ordnance grade 8620 steel and finished with a mil-spec phosphate, the Vortex is a self-tightening flash suppressor that will not loosen or shift position under sustained fire. This Vortex flash hider comes equipped with M22x1.0 outside threads specifically for use with an OPS Inc sound suppressor.

Specifications:

Caliber: 223 Rem/5.56mm
Thread Pitch: 1/2"-28
Length: 2.25"
Diameter: .860"
Material: 8620 Steel
Finish: Mil-Spec Phosphate
Weight: 2.9 oz
Silencer Mount: OPS Inc M22x1.0

OPS Inc Silencer Compatibility:

M4-S MBS
M4-M MBS
12th Model SPR MBS
14th Model CQB MBS
15th Model CQB MBS
16th Model CQB MBS

Note: Manufacturer suggests using a M22x1.0 Thread Protector (Product # 672293) when an Ops Inc sound suppressor is not installed on the flash hider.

Allen Engineering M4 Collar Adapter Extender
http://aesuppressors.com/mounts/
(3rd item down)

Attachment 53418

Descriptions:

If the barrel is too short to properly mount the M4 Collar and has at least 1.5" of exposed barrel, this adapter will add the necessary length. This will also fit on long barrels, but will and about 1" of length. This adapter adds extended 1/2x28 threads and requires the AEMB Mount to mount the suppressor. This works with the AEM4, AEM3, and AEM2.

Ops Inc. 15th Model 5.56mm Suppressor
http://www.opsinc.us/suppressors/15t...l-CQB-MBS.html

Attachment 53419

Description:

Designed for 11.5 inch Colt Commando, The 14 1/2" M4 and similar weapons

This model attaches to the weapon via a patented muzzle brake and an adapter that goes over the barrel for silencer alignment. When fired without the suppressor the muzzle brake effectively reduces recoil and muzzle climb while diverting muzzle gasses slightly forward, away from the shooter. The muzzle brake design eliminates upward and downward blast while reducing muzzle flash. The suppressor mounts via threads on the outside of the muzzle brake centering on a fitting that locks over the barrel. On the M4 this fitting stops forward of the M203 cutout allowing the mounting and use of the M203.

Technical Description
Caliber 5.56mm / .223 caliber
Diameter 1.5 inches
Length past brake 3.5 inches
Length past muzzle 4.75 inches
Overall length 7 inches
Weight 17 ounces
Construction Fusion welded 300 series stainless steel
Endurance Meets SOPMOD objective of 30,000 rounds under various firing schedules.

Note: dB will be close or less than 40 dB

My current GBBR build is near complete.
Need a new BUIS, M600V and a dual pressure switch.
As for trades, I'll need a new lower because this one has a broken trigger guard and a piece of metal broken off by the front. So I won't have trades until I locate a lower in Canada.

If you're wondering why the yellowish base colour, it was to match the rare combat top which I had when I first bought the paint. Currently it only matches my Sands, but I do plan on buying another top in the near future.

Hey guys!
I've contacted HAO about the Vortex SBV, and they're down to make it as long as we meet 20 buyers!

SO,
Price: $50 USD per flash hider (without shipping)
Construction: 4140 Steel
Inner thread: -14mm (IF YOU WANT +14mm THREADING TELL ME THAT, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT)
Outside thread: 22 x 1.0

Since the manufacture is waiting for 20 buyers in advance, the wait time will be long.

After they are made, they will be shipped to me, and I will contact all buyers and discuss shipping.

So if truly interested, message me for PayPal info! And don't forget to say if you want +14mm threading for your PTW!!

L119A2 Rails & Uppers on the horizon!

9 Attachment(s)
So for anyone not following the L119 Owners Club & Canadian Forces (Impression/Inspiration) Facebook pages, there are two options on the horizon for those wanting fairly accurate CANSOFCOM C8IUR (CQB) or L119A2 blasters.

HAO has shown some very exciting 3D images of a full IUR Upper designed for PTW and GBBR bodies. It sounds like HAO will start with the more common CQB length rail/upper that has been seen utilized by both CANSOFCOM & UKSF personnel. The only difference between the two is that the UKSF variant has the grenade launcher lug on the rear underside of the rail portion whereas the CANSOFCOM version was not ordered with that. CSOR & JTF2 impressionists may need to find a machinist to take that off for them as I do not believe it will be removable (as with the RS versions).

HAO's post on the L119 Owners Club FB page:

"The UKSF is here lads!
Of course PTW always lead the way.
*It's monolithic upper and only available in PTW/GBBR version.
(Well, only available in 10.5" version and still in develop)"

The other exciting news is from Angry Gun. They've decided to go a different route and design a separate free-float rail that will mount using a barrel nut. Purists may not like the idea of not having a perfect full IUR replica, but it does open things up for all kinds of other options. I understand they plan to have it compatible with as many different brands/systems as possible. The other fabulous part about the stand-alone rail is that they've designed it with a removable grenade lug as you'll see in the images! That means us CANSOFCOM nuts won't have to machine it off and in fact will have both C* & L119A2 options available!

Here's the post from Red Wolf UK (Angry Gun's UK distributor) about the rail on their FB page:

"An update on our L119A2 project with Angry Gun .
The prototype rail is currently in testing and is fitting really well. Some minor details to change for the production versions but here are some teasers."

Pre-orders for the Angry Gun L119 A2 (C8IUR) inspired Free Float Rail are now available through Redwolf UK however they don't ship to North America.

As I understand, they are working on finding a Canadian distributer here so I will update this thread as soon as I know more.

Fans of UKSF impressions and the Colt Canada L119A1/A2 should take a look at this article on The Reptile House Blog. It explains a bit of the evolution of Angry Gun's new L119A2 (C8IUR) inspired rail system as well as its implementation on one of the first L119A2 replicas built from it.

Putting together a build of my own, but I was wondering where you guys source the green hand guards and pistol grips? I was just going to go the route of spray painting them with some Krylon OD green that's pretty close to the actual color, but I know the paint will fade eventually with use.
