Hmm, yea the battery box seems to be more an afterthought than a real improvement I think.

Is there space between the speaker and the back of the box? Im asking because im wondering if its possible to slide a small metal mesh between them to protect the speaker.

If the Batt is a lipo, does this mean I have to also pick up a lipo charger?

wey ferro December 31st, 2009 14:23

it comes with a wall charger. with a light on it that turns green when its done.

For the current version, to use with military headset, you need to modify the mic of the headset. A new version will be released in about two monthes, which has a improved circuit board and can work with the military headset without modification.

Sounds good Huang :) Ill wait till then!

Thread zombie, yey!

I'll be getting a Puxing shortly, IMHO it's a better value as a radio. I'll sort something out so it would still look like an MBITR.

So.... I had a look at the TW whip antenna:

Is it me, or does it look like an SMA plug? If that's the case, it could be installed and actually works on the Puxing, instead of just having it as a dummy.

Also, if anywone has comments on this antenna's build quality, feel free to share!

DarkAngel February 12th, 2010 09:28

Your right, now that you mention it. I have few SMA Plugs laying around. If Huang ever gets his hands on Gen 4 or whichever is the latest version that uses swimmers or comtac style headsets work with, Ill take a closer look. Im also hoping they improve the quality of the unit (such as the fake battery unit). If im investing in a unit like this, I would like to get something I can feel good about. Things like a fake battery, (like cmon, lipo inside a fake battery cartridge?) and as way ferro mentioned, the single bolt in the middle is a pretty chincy design flaw as well as the speaker hole and fake antennae.

Really, I wouldnt mind paying a little more to get these flaws fixed.

Cyzam March 5th, 2010 14:46

any ideas when that gen4 is available? looking forward to it.

jurgen975 March 7th, 2010 12:28
