What bb weight for AEG + outdoors
Whats optimal? Please complete poll above
|
.28 or bust. At least, when they're available. I was stuck with .25 all last summer and was not a happy camper. :(
|
.30 all the way.
|
I used .28s all year last year and have started out that way this year. I have procured 20 bags of KSC .30s that I am going to start using when the weather warms up again.
I used .25s before the .28s...it is remarkable the difference .03grams can make, especially for outdoors in the bush. |
I use .25's because they are readily available, probably would use .28s if I could get them
|
Sub 400fps, .25g are best both for price, quantity and ballistic.
.30g and up are more adequate for sniping purpose. |
I have used 0.28s for a few years and I am quite happy. I find that it is more stable than lower weights

0.28g pwns 0.25g in any gun. 0.30g pwns 0.28g, especially with the Bastards, there is no velocity difference (from my testing). I'd use 0.30g full time in all my guns if the quantity vs. price was better. |
Hey if guys were in body armour that covered everything we could use the 0.8g's lol
Like... not just clothing and BDU's I mean. Actual armour |

.28 or .3
that is all. |
I guess I might try the 0.28g's and maybe even the 0.30g's
|
I swear by .28 Bastard's in the bush. Cuts through and makes loud thwacks.
Strange that the poll doesn't reflect the consensus of this thread... C'mon, .28 fans! vote now and vote often, LOL! |
.3s
I put that shit in everything! :D |
|
.25 due to quality and availability.
No higher ones readily available at least not quality ones |
At least .28 usually .3
I'm actually considering the move to .36s now that madbull is marketing them in larger bags. I don't really shoot that much, so I like all of my shots to count. -Grant |

I ran .28s as soon as Jay brought them in, but to be honest, I put .30 in my gun and they never came out.
I am not heavy on the trigger anyway so price wise it makes little difference. I find they increase the accurate range a touch and ouchie factor for the the win. I feel the trade off in FPS is worth it. Just converting one energy to another. |

Now this has me thinking up something new to design lol |
Another +1 to .28s I'd start using them right now if I didn't have so many bags of .25, But that's a change for me throughout this season.
|
Thanks for all the great feedback, picked up 2 bags of BBBastard .28 as a result

Where'd you see Madbull marketing them in larger bags? I've only seen 2000 count jars. |
My M4 is running at about 330-350 FPS right now I believe, would .28's slow down the BB too much at this FPS? I chrono'd my gun last week at a sim, and it read I was shooting at 263~ with .25's, but something was wrong with the chrono because a few shots before that, it was saying 290. What should the minimum FPS be for .28's so it doesn't slow down so much?

Oh and all you morons thinking just because your BB is going slower means it doesnt go as far.. well run into a wall or something.. its mass over velocity people.. You take a light car and roll it down a hill and a heavy vehicle .. what one will end up going farther? |
Are Mad Bull BBs any good compared to BBB?
