Where is my feedback

i've bought and sold many items on the ASC board and use the Trader rating to hedge my bet on the people I'm dealing with and I'm sure others do the same.

I've received 26 responses to my Trader Rating out of some 80 transactions.

As far as I'm concerned if I bought something from you and paid.. then as soon as you get payment you should give positive feedback.
If I sent you something then I expect feedback after you've received the item and it arrived as described.

Feedback should be considered a de facto part of the transaction.

I always reply to the sellers when the item arrived letting them know I've received the item left feedback and asking them to do the same.

Takes about 5 seconds to do this you lazy wanks.

Cobrajr122 April 14th, 2010 11:22

I usually have to remind people to leave some feedback.

I hold back on feedback until the receiving party has gotten the package and it is in tact and as advertised, makes more sense that way.

Crunchmeister April 14th, 2010 11:26

I know what you mean. I always leave the appropriate feedback for any transaction I deal with. I have 58 feedbacks that have been left for me (all positive), and I can guarantee that it only accounts for at most 1/3 of the transactions I've had on ASC. It really pisses me off, because I've always go the extra mile to make any transaction with me, buy or sell, go as smoothly as possible and as quickly as possible. My current feedback reflects that already, but the sheer number of missing feedback is staggering.

In the last year or so, once a transaction is complete (items have been received, etc), I always PM the other party and inform them that I've left them the appropriate feedback and would appreciate they do the same for me. That gets more responses, but still about 1/4 of transactions end with no feedback left for me.

kalnaren April 14th, 2010 11:50

Likewise. I think I have about 1/4 of my transactions in feedback.

In the same vane, PLEASE leave negative or neutral feedback for someone as appropriate.

Aegiis April 14th, 2010 12:01

Same here.

What do you guys propose then ?

A thread in the General section, "People who do not leave feedback" ?

If they see their name in public, maybe they will do it.

jamuke April 14th, 2010 12:05

Can't do much really, that's why I ranted.

Hopefully some people will read this post and say to themselves

"Yeah that's right, oh wait, I'm one of those lazy wanks"

It's personal preference. Some will leave feedback and others won't. Naming and shaming is hardly a fitting punishment.

TechSeller April 14th, 2010 13:03

Lazy perhaps but possibly just busy or forgetful. I don't see anything wrong with a friendly reminder if the appropriate amount of time has passed without feedback.

At least give it a shot before calling out people in a thread. Just my .02

-Trooper- April 14th, 2010 13:43

Most people on this forum have done many transactions without getting feedback back. It's life, deal with it. If there was something truly wrong or the person was dissatisfied with them item and there was no resolution, they would leave negative feedback.
So just take no negative feedback as a good sign and roll with it.

pusangani April 14th, 2010 13:50

LOL I went into your feedback Markian to check if I had left it for you just in case I forgot, it's a part of things man, no worries

BloodSport April 14th, 2010 13:52

Negative feedback left for calling me a lazy wank on a good deal transaction.

j/k

Crunchmeister April 14th, 2010 13:58

I don't mind so much if no feedback is left when I buy something. So yeah, I'm a good buyer, know what i want, pay fast, etc. It's when I sell something that I'm more attached to the feedback, as it's my track record as a seller. Every buyer who's dealt with me has always been satisfied, so why not take a minute of their time to say so? I always leave them feedback. I just consider it common courtesy. But I guess these days, like common sense, it's nowhere near as common as the name implies...

Pssst, remember that Elcan and Docter sight I bought? ;) :D

jamuke April 14th, 2010 14:16

that's it exactly Crunchmeister
I could care less that people see I've spent $ thousands buying stuff,

just like people to see that the stuff I sell is shipped quick, packed well
not a problem to deal with,

I will check someones feedback if they are selling to see if they sold before and it's a way to check on the item if they purchased it from someone else to see if the whole thing is legit ( ie, there is an item for sale that was purchased a few weeks ago for $xx, the buyer is now selling and the price is considerably higher than the price they purchased it for)

not really ticked at anyone really, well except Canadapost who have F$%^ed
up another delivery

Must be right next to the feedback you left for me on that deal...;)

I may forget to leave feedback...but I never forget a wise-ass.

What?
I already have feedback left for you!

Styrak April 14th, 2010 14:33

I think as long as you have a +1 for someone that's good. Yes, you can change if if you want but....to each their own.
