Is there a Doctor in the House?

Ok so at the shop part of my roll in the ASC community is informing and recruiting. Part of the general speil is that there are 6000 new friends to shoot at from all kinds of walks.... Except Doctors. I know medics and Nurses, and Police, lawyers, Mechanics, Security and Computer geeks and Students and blah blah blah, but no Doctors. Why not and dum, da dum am I wrong?
Is there another profession blatantly absent?
Please if your comfy pop yours in and or a field you don't think is in here.
Cheers

Drache July 22nd, 2010 23:50

not who he didn't list he is asking who/what profession we are missing as a community.

or at least that is how I read it.

Anyone else doing (or studying) Geography/GIS or is it just me?

I know we have a lot of computer geeks from technicians to security specialists and DBA's, Linux, Mac and other Unix-like OS users, SunOS, and Windows users as well.

What about Teachers (I think I heard one member mention that he was but that was kind of in passing)? I know we have a few engineers but what about some of the "rarer" ones that don't seem to get all the glory? Geo Eng., Physics Eng. ("Fizzers"), Materials, Mining, ChemE?

Any Addictions counsellors (a major that seems to be dominated by girls, at least at my school)?

I know there's pilots and most likely some "Ramp Rats" as well but what about ATC guys?

Librarians? (Funnily enough I'm considering doing an Masters of Library Science at UBC once I'm finished my current degree).

What about Brew Masters and Viticulturists (wine makers)?

I could go on and on but I'd like to see some people post up some odd or interesting careers (that is if they're comfortable with sharing such info).

No, I saw it, just refused to acknowledge it. I have no problem with my birthplace and where I have spent my time growing up.. I love it here.... and I love working there.

No politician will get publicly involved in a game like this. The smear scandal and tom Foolery and Fuckary that go on would be too much like work.
That said we have Lawyers from both sides of the Ailse.

I'm not outting anyone in this thread, I just think its interesting to see that there are so many walks in this game I'm trying to nail down the folks we don't have So we know who to look for.

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw July 23rd, 2010 21:27

Do we have any porn stars that play? Actors? Pilots? Authors? Lobbyists? Fortune 500 company suits? Archeologists? Mascots? Professional athletes?

Stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

L473ncy July 23rd, 2010 21:42

Well there's an ex-porn store owner and I know that a few people have pilots licenses here (probably most of them PPL and maybe an IFR rating/endorsement and commercial license at the most, probably nothing like a Boeing 7x7 or Airbus pilot though).

And I'm "kind of" like an archaeologist, and it is a career that I could probably get into depending on what courses I take (but right now it's planned that I do GIS stuff so I can be "support staff" for archaeologists, geographers, and such).
