Wtf?

Hey guys I am in need of some assistance. Last Tuesday(Aug23), I bought a WA M4 GBB-R off of Kimbo and he has not sent me any notification to let me know if he has shipped it, received the money, or anything. Just a little pissed off that He's spending my money and I got nothing. What are my options?

Tigirus August 29th, 2010 15:58

Give him some time, it isn't like ordering from a actual store, these guys have lives outside of airsoft and aren't selling them for a living.

Give him at least a week or two, then you can start worrying

Double Tapper August 29th, 2010 15:58

Has he/she been on since the completed transaction?
It is a business transaction, they should be right up
front and tell you any delays in shipping.
Don't let others make excuses for them,pm and ask
what is happening, maybe nothing but bad timing
of things on their end.
They did make the effort to take your money.

KSKcarter August 29th, 2010 16:26

The user was online two days after I sent the money. I suppose I will give it another week before I get to carried away assuming things. Just kind of really looking forward to that GBB. And you say they have lives etc.. well if he has enough of a life to post FOR SALE I imagine he has enough of a life to get back to me about it. The way I was brought up if your going to do something fuckin' get it done and over with.

Agreed, and if there will be a delay they can tell you, but if I have the time to post "for sale" and take the money, I MAKE time to send the item ASAP

his last log in was last Tues. the 24th. did you send money last Tues. or two days before his last log in?

sure a week is too long for no contact just be sure to post correct time line.

Brokenwings August 29th, 2010 16:41

Give him some time. You'll get it don't worry. But what i do highly agree on though, is that if you have time to send your hard working money to them they should take a good 20 mins to get it shipped ASAP.

but meh. idk

No.

If the seller can take the effort to TAKE the money, he surely can take the effort to send a PM/E-mail telling him whats up.

Private or Business transaction, it doesn't matter. I still want SOME interaction.

If the seller is too busy or can't be bothered with that, then FFS, state that in the sale thread (i'll know NOT to buy from him/her).

Hell you can have a 15 hours shift for all i care, it takes 1 minute to log on ASC and send a PM. You can even do it from your cell now a day.

He's a good guy, I'm sure there's some explanation.

Rugger_can August 29th, 2010 17:29

Why is it the entire forum has to baby sit every single private transaction? Sheesh, at least ATTEMPT to work stuff out yourself.

Double Tapper August 29th, 2010 17:39

It is refreshing to hear ppl say the onus is on the seller
to come clean on delay, instead of hearing excuses on
why they took a month,to say they went on vacation
or something lame. You took the time to send them 600-
1200 of your hard earned or saved money. They owe
you an answer on the delay.

I have had good dealing on ASC so far.I always have the
money or request one more week to the payday to get
what I am buying.Once the money is sent, they are legally
bond to send it in short order.Check to see if the funds
were excepted,if they were the day you sent them, the
seller "should"! tell you up front if any delay is expected.

My bad I had the day mixed up But I sent the cash Tuesday. He was last online on the 25th(wed) which means he knows I have sent the money and has not done anything for my part.

What are you talking about? 2 week???

I have a life outside airsoft and i usually ship the next day. If i can't; i pm the buyer about the delay.

I expect the same when i buy from members of this forum.

theguy August 29th, 2010 20:51

I agree that the seller should at least PM you and tell you whats going on, but Its only been 5 days, and that includes a weekend.

Have you tried to contact him? You haven't mentioned once yet if you have sent a PM asking if he has shipped it yet.

In my experience a polite and friendly PM goes a long way

bruce August 29th, 2010 21:34

He says he's selling it for a friend. Give him some time to sort things out.

Don't accuse anyone with spending your money before they can ship out your package. This is not an option here. You don't want to start pissing off the staff.

Kimbo August 29th, 2010 21:57

Holy crap guys.

Got the PM on Wednesday and passed the info to the guy selling it who processed the the Pay Pal and shipped out the gun. Today, logged in, saw your PM and responded to let you know I'd check on things THEN saw this shit show.

Obviously, you knew the deal was between you two. So why didn't you email the guy you sent the money to? I assumed that I was just putting you two together and you guys would take it from there. Again, I'll check and get back to you.

Thank god there is a venue we can air all these 4 or 5 day old stale transactions accross the internets and make people look like crooks.

Brokenwings August 29th, 2010 22:16

Highly agree with all of you. I know, retail comes second, life comes first. but honestly, shipping something takes less than 20 minutes. Pming someone, less than 5.
We give you (a stranger) hundreds of our dollars, the least you can do is update us hastily.

But yeah...for the love of god...fix your own problems T___T it's not even been that long

Wow, I should really learn to read things before putting up a response. I thought that the OP meant that the guy he was buying from hadn't received the money yet he was just waiting for confirmation before sending money and thought it was taking too long.

Just ignore everything I said, I'm an idiot

swatt13 August 30th, 2010 00:49

dood, my homepage is asc, so everytime my wife goes online, it says ive been online. just because its "says" hes been online he may not have been. how did you send the money? if it was emt or paypal, you would have gotten a notification hes gotten your money, if you havent gotten that then your wrong to accuse him of so. and if he hasnt accepted, you have no right to get all upset.

KSKcarter August 30th, 2010 03:51

Well if you would like me to Deal with him why would you post it as selling FOR a friend I am making the transaction through you so I assume its between me and you. And it has been accepted and everything already..

Edit* And I'm not accusing him of nothing people so zip it. I just wanted to know what the fuck..

Jsofter August 30th, 2010 05:09

If you want people on your side watch your language. Ive noticed that the people who cant write a decent note and be polite are the ones who complain the most, who seem the least patient and always start unnessasary threads and shame the name of good people because you've jumped to conclusion about a situation. You never know, something could have happened in his family and he was not able to communicate with you. it doesnt matter if it only takes 5 minutes, that may be 5 minutes he may not have.

This thread you've created is about a business matter. You named it wtf? and slipped the f bomb numerous times. That doesnt sound very mature to me. If this were between a certified retailer and yourself, talking the way you are is not going to help you accomplish what you want.

Be patient, be polite.

You'll get where your going with greater ease.

I never jumped to any conclusions, what you have to say is completely useless. You're not even AV'd

*Edit* And what the **** do you mean want people to take my side? Are you retarded I have no side I just asked what my options were. And for the record I am a VERY patient and polite person just ask Him in the PM's Its internet morons thinkin' they know shit that irritates me.

Jsofter August 30th, 2010 08:02

Your reply proved exactly what I was saying. You cant keep professional in a professional matter. You havent proved that you are patient nor do I believe you are. But this has no relavence to your topic so Ill contribute a bit. Kimbo is a good guy, he replyed with an explanation later on. Take it for what it is, and go with it. The worlds not perfect and your never going to get a perfect ending. It was a business setting and yes late replies are not great, but things happen. Any human being knows that.

And for the record, myself not be age verified yet has absolutely no relevence to anything I said. I dont need to be recognized as over 18 to have an opinion, or to state my feels on a matter. Yet another factor that proves my point.

...Of course you are..

Kimbo August 30th, 2010 10:00

Normally if you put 2 people together for a deal you assume that once their correspondence has started and money has changed hand via email, the intermediary is no longer needed. You would assume that if there were any further questions, the buyer would just email the seller...no? Not make a thread about 'having no options available, someone please help me!' I've done hundreds and hundreds of purchases online, some with businesses and some privately all with varying degrees of communication. If I've ever had a question I open a dialog and wait a few days.

Granted, I should have probably checked back on the whole thing earlier, but wow...what's wrong with email.

FYI if you emailed the guy he'd have told you that it was shipped out 2 day shipping on Thursday, so you should have it today. Tomorrow at the latest. Less than a week to get your package, and everyone on ASC has to read how you got ripped off.

safx August 30th, 2010 10:29

Did you not get his e-mail address, telephone # mailing address.. Cell phone # ?

And now you come whining for "help" Just what exactly can anyone here do for you ? Other than pat your head and say "there there little fella .. it will all be ok"

Wow you guys have absolutely no lives do you. I was just asking because I was worried, my first transaction through ASC, Thought you guys would be a little more helpful but this place is just a bunch of little girls that jump to conclusions and like to bash.

Really? Sounds to me like your the one jumping to conclusions, and likes to bash.

TaroBear August 30th, 2010 14:27

When exactly is the right time to complain anyway? Like, everyone always says "oh, yeah, these people have lives outside of ASC". And now I'm waiting on a dude who I sent money to last week, told me he'd send it on Friday, then told me Saturday. I PM'd him Sunday afternoon, and he didn't respond, although I can clearly see he's been on ASC at least twice now without responding to my PMs. Granted, I'm not worried yet, but I always wonder whenever I see these threads when the appropriate time to complain is.

Bowers August 30th, 2010 14:46

Matt chillax man this whole place is built around reputation if people think you will be a pain to do business with they might choose not to. Being frustrated is understandable and i guess being a little impatient is kind of as well but turning to insults is not going to go in your favor man

I know you and i know you have a temper just as bad as mine but try and stay calm man just finish out the rest of this transaction as clean as possible and walk on your tip toes for a while

WTF for real. What is your problem man? This might be your first transaction on here but that doesn't make you king! Transaction sometimes takes awhile just like if you were to buy anywhere else online. Shit happens so just relax.

Totally thought I was king. :|

Sorry for being a pain I never meant to come off as pissed I was relaxed in the first part of this but you guys really know how to aggravate a person. I Didn't think you guys would take this the way you did like holy balls. I was asking you in the first place what are my options. As to what should I sent in a PM or find a way to get a hold of you like Jesus Christ... I feel bad for all these people commenting, must be embarrassing.

Good Question..

and the answer is NEVER ... unless it become a trade dispute and the agreement is breached.

Protect yourself.. get full information about the person you are trading with , and call them to discuss the deal ..

make an agreement regarding payment and shipping date. and then confirm it by e-mail.

If you are comfortable at that point , send the money , and then shut the fuck up and wait .. If you don't have a tracking number 2 days after the agreed shipping date.

Send an e-mail requesting the tracking number . A day after that if nothing.. then Call and ask for the tracking number.
2 days after that , if nothing , send an e-mail requesting your money back as at that point the seller is in breach of your agreement.

If you do not immediately receive a tracking number indicating the item is shipped ( and check and make sure it's not a bogus # ) or a refund..

call the police as you have just been scammed

Once you have called the police , then post on here the issue with the seller .. stating that the police have been called , and leave negative feedback indicating that the seller breached your agreement and scammed you.

Doing anything else is akin to pissing into a headwind... you will get pissed on

HKGhost August 30th, 2010 15:55

I do agree that you WERE relax when you started this thread but then you just started to whine and bitch with all the suggestions. People on here do want to help you but you do need to listen. Yes it does really suck when your money is gone and you have no idea if you're gonna get your stuff or not. I've been there and waited a month for a silencer adapter. Next time just be patient and wait for the response. There's no need to be calling members this and that. Hope everything does work out for you man.

You got some real balls apologizing in the first sentence, then insulting the users on the last considering your attitude thus far.

If you had done your own damn research, You would see answers to your questions in STICKIES in the classifieds and even in the FAQ's.

Your "Your cordially invited to shut the fuck up" avatar in addition to your topic title, posts and the thumbs down thread pic, just shows the kind of attitude you have. You also slandered the name of a long time member of the board with good trade history.

If I were you. I would be more embarassed about your own posts.

KSKcarter August 30th, 2010 16:08

LOL I chose that in the sites avatars I thought it was funny. I chose Wtf? as in Wtf should I do. The Thumbs down was because I'm not going to put a thumbs up?!?!? What is your problem your just looking for trouble so stop. And I still think that all these people saying I'm accusing him and saying I'm this big negative guy when I'm probably the most upbeat guy you've ever met. I find that is embarrassing they are pulling this stuff out of their ass I not once complained about the feedback I was getting, I was open to anything Hence why I posted this in General. To get everyones opinion, If you are saying that I can't post on this forum wanting some advice without getting stuff like this then Wtf.

twsmith August 30th, 2010 16:10

A little off topic, but should members be posting for sale adds for their friends in the first place? Doesn't that kind of sidestep the entire purpose of age verification? We do have to be age verified to post for sale adds, correct?

The first thing I do when I ask for an item on the boards is:

------------

Hey _____,

I'm interested in your ______ posted in the classifieds. I can emt you the funds immediately to the total of $___.__ (if shipping is included).

My Address is:

____ ____
10_____, APT ____
Toronto, ON,
M__2__

If you would like to make the deal, could you provide your mailing address, phone number, email and real name?

Cheers,
___

------------

Over the next correspondences, get a mailing date and assurance that they will PM the tracking number the same day, or next after they ship the package. If it is an expensive item and you would like to add insurance to it (CanadaPost), offer it, don't be cheap. Insure the item for it's worth, or more, if you want to provide the coin.

Doing it this way leaves very little room for error, unless of course they are out to scam you and lie about everything. Very few people are this way, most people are honest and just have a tendency to miscommunicate.

Better luck next time.

Also, drop the attitude, it gets you nowhere and causes most people to just ignore your situation and let you hang.

DarkAngel August 30th, 2010 16:19

Your posting in a public forum. Just because your not getting the answers you want doesnt mean you go around shitting on other users. The response you received from page one should be a clue. the 2nd and 3rd pages is the community trying to get it through your head failing to help you get a clue.

Calling everyone else "little girls" after the shitslinging you did in pages 1 + 2 then telling everyone else that they are retards and morons when they try to give you advice pretty much doesnt make anyone want to help you out. You've been recommended to lose the attitude already many times in this thread, but clearly you dont seem to care about the communities advice.

If I was pivot, you would have been given negative feedback 2 pages ago. I know many others in this thread would agree.

KSKcarter August 30th, 2010 16:25

You just don't know how to stop talking do you.

Ktown Militia August 30th, 2010 16:27

No doubt. I think its been resolved, or the OP question has been answered. Just another ASC gangbang.

Drake August 30th, 2010 16:28

okay everyone can STFU now.

Some infractions handed out... maybe more to come.

Threads like this make me think there are new rules needed, but no matter how many rules there are you can never cover every possible angle. So I think a better solution will just be suspending/revoking AVs for people who can't use them in a responsible, mature way: 18+ isn't just age on paper, it's mental age too.

Just to clarify... You CAN sell for someone else, but you become responsible for that sale. So yes, in this case the responsibility for the sale's smooth and trouble-free outcome rests on Kimbo's shoulders. He sold for someone else? Really? I don't see someone else's account, I see his. Full stop.

As for Matt... whatever worry or case you may have had initially, your stellarly shitty attitude has robbed it of every last ounce of credibility it may have had. Stop posting now, go sit in the fucking corner and reflect on what lessons you've learned here.

Some of you people piss me off beyond belief, and that's just not where you wanna be going.

Jihad Joe August 30th, 2010 20:43

As for matt... Whatever worry or case you may have had initially, your stellarly shitty attitude has robbed it of every last ounce of credibility it may have had. Stop posting now, go sit in the fucking corner and reflect on what lessons you've learned here.

Some of you people piss me off beyond belief, and that's just not where you wanna be going.

hooooraaaah!!!!!!!!!

+1 to this, it has crossed my mind once before but I'm normally never the one to ever say anything. Sellers should never be selling items or buying items for their non-av friends, it really just defeats the purpose of the whole av system.

Some airsofters dont use the public forums due to the drama, so having a friend connect sales for that person doesnt seem like it would be an issue. My two bits on that notient.
